Jax identity iss a Skirmishing slayer.

Here is my problem with Jax right now. hes my most played champion. first bought champion. I know hes getting buffed. but I don't understand how are we supposed to build him. trinity force will be good once again on him. but since he doesn't have ad ratio on his W its not as good on him as say irelia or hell even wukong. because their procs will do more damage because of having an ad ratio. jax ult gives him defensive boosts. now if you ask me. someone who played jax for 100s of games. jax ultimate. the active part. simply sucks. what makes trundle ult so good. it makes one guy less tanky while giving him a lot of stats. but most importantly. trundle heals during his ultimate. am not saying jax ult should heal him. but his kit is too binary. i dont mean hes god or useless. i mean that his kit. is too binary on many different ways. he auto attacks. means ad is good on him. but the problem is that most of his damaging abilities. W and ult passive which he gets more damage from than his E and Q. scale exclusively with ap. so thats problem number 1 with him. my other problem is that. hes somewhat of an assassin as riot is suggesting. riven master yi fiora all these champions in his class. have an ultimate that gives them huge window of power. to do damage. again. as someone who played jax for 100s of games. the active ult. is worthless. now yeah 120 armor and mr at rank 3 isn't bad. but all of that without a huge amounts of health is useless. and jax kit. has no sustain. making those stats even more worthless. and simply you will be forced to buy armor and MR anyway as jax. because u can't rely on your ult all the time. as it has fairly longish cd. those stats become even more inefficient. go ahead buy a lot of stats with no health you will die easily on any champ.

every time i play him top lane. i get forced to buy a tank item as first item because i can't survive trundle or malphite or any champion as jax building damage.

solution. remove the armor and mr gained from his ult. and give him something else. offensive stats or ability or utility. I mean again i bought this champion one time. not that many times i felt like my ult did anything out of the ordinary. its never really a game changer like many other ults of champs in his class are. when did you ever see a master yi or a tryndamere or a fiora tryna go in an even 1v1 without their ultimates. or riven.

Jax ult active. is pure trash. once you buy 3-4 tank items which optimal builds are. his ult becomes obsolete. i might be crazy but thats my opinion for someone who played him a billion times. exaggeration more like 300-400 matches. with armor mr you buy the stats are worthless. going glass cannon to counter ap or ad means you have no health to make use of them. and if you build either stat exclusively means that you lose a lot of your kit's damage

and also its very unsatisfying to use it. I mean i've never seen anyone ever talk about jax ult active part. every other skirmishers ult is a big part of their kit. except jax. thats why they are skirmishers. they use their entire kit depending on situations i fights. i never find a reason not to use jax ult but then again i never find a time where i used his ult and made an impactful difference

it would be cool if his ult had some interaction with his E dodge. or sticking power.

Jax is a simple champ like all of the release champions. For such easy champ, he is quite strong - just like Annie.

Magic damage: 100 / 160 / 220 (+ 70% AP)

Armor: 30 / 50 / 70 (+ 50% bonus AD)

Magic Resistance: 30 / 50 / 70 (+ 20% AP)

I think that this is pretty good ultimate. You can even heal from the R procs with Gunblade. 70 bonus armor is not a joke, if you have 100 bonus AD, you get 50 more. The MR bonus is not that great, but 70 flat MR is also good. He was made to be a carry, so you can build dmg and be tanky, but melee carries don't really work well in this game.

Melee carries in game like DOTA are playable, because there is an item that gives spell immunity, also another that gives free blink, so you have initiation even without gapclosers in your kit. Also most mages in DOTA don't scale well into lategame and buying their variant of Warmog makes you tanky enough not to get bursted in one combo later in the game. In Lol you just get kited by the ADC and the supports/tanks, while mages scale into late game AOE monsters that can delete whole team with one combo, if you don't stack MR + HP.

I'd rather take damage reduction. hell please cc immunity. over the armor and mr. give me flat damage reduction for the period. idk give me 15/30/40 damage reduction

Flat damage reduction is good only earlygame... (Plus only tanks get damage reduction) Only Irelia has CC reduction and Jax is already outscaling her.

I agree here.

Imagine I had a real weapon. Imagine if you couldn't even stop me with hard cc.

Well I've played Jax more than 300 times... a lot more than 300 times actually. I actually think as a solo carry he is more optimally build as a fighter/assassin rather than bruiser/jugger.

Try the following see how you get off. Runes I think these are always the best on him: Attack speed quints, attack speed reds, scaling armor yellows, scaling MR blues = 29% attack speed, 27 armor and MR at level 18.

This allows you to build HP without having to worry about your resistances as they'll be in the region of 100 at level 18 and then the bonuses your ult gives you will be sufficient.

Taking this into account, try the following builds (items in build order):

Jax item 1416 item 3146 item 3115 item 3116 item 3065 item 3111 Jax item 1416 item 3146item 3078 item 3022 item 3143item 3111

Jax item 3146 item 3116 item 3115 item 3027 item 3100 item 3111 Jax item 3146 item 3078 item 3022 item 3053 item 3748 item 3111

All of these builds will give you more than 2.0 attack speed, great sustain, big damage, large health pool and high resistances through your AP / AD activation of your ult. I know the AP builds seem troll-ish but they work at plat 1 for me. With the Triforce buffs though, I will probably integrate that into every build now because it will be perfect for Jax. The AP builds are worth a try though and are surprisingly strong. You could even simply optimise your build depending whether the enemy has more magic or more physical damage. Merc treads are pretty much always optimal on Jax though because of how reliant he is on mobility.

Jax's ult is genuinely one of the best in the game. Not only does it give him immense damage at all times, but it also allows him to build masses of damage while giving him the ability to dive into the enemy and take loads of damage. It only seems lacklustre if you build him tanky. Sure he is viable tanky, but unless you are playing at challenger level I don't think it is optimal because from bronze to diamond you can use him as a solo carry.
