Late game top laners to suggest

Getting ready for ranked, I have been playing this game and found myself enjoying top lane champions such as Jax. Good late game champ. However I would like to expand on that and try to play other late game champions that hurt just as much. Who are some good top lane champions?

There's not as many late game top champions as there used to be. Riot has been systematically removing late game power from top lane over the past few seasons. Nasus is a perfect example being nerfed from late game to mid game. Can try and give a list as best as I can.

Divers: Camille JaxIrelia (Not sure on Irelia, I think she got nerfed to mid game)

Slayers: are designed for late game, ones that work for top lane are: Fiora Gangplank Tryndamere Yasuo

Mages: Not my area of expertise but since they're ranged, technically any late game mage works. Cassiopeia Ryze Vladimir Veigar (Viegar might be a bad choice for top lane since his range is short)

Assassins: Akali Really I think Akali is basically the only late game assassin in general due to her high skill ceiling floor and her dashes. Qiyana might be another choice, I have no idea about her.

Marksmen: Technically the samething with slayers. With the exception of Quinn, all Marksmen are designed for late game. However the two best Marksmen for top lane are:Kayle Urgot (Urgot is technically a Juggernaut, but since he's ranged he is also a Marksman, and has a nasty late game, or used to not sure of now.) This is because they give to the team more than just damage, Kayle's invulnerable ultimate, Urgot's execution and tankyness.

Juggernauts: This one is tricky, Juggernauts are designed as early game first and foremost. The following may be an exception, MAYBE: DrMundo Mordekaiser Chogath (Cho'gath is considered as a tank, but hes actually AP Juggernaut due to his lack of in built initiation, and is more focused on damage than CC. Honestly he's an abomination of the two.)

Tanks: Tanks late game have just been butchered. They used to been the gods of late game due to their group CC. Some that maybe late game are MAYBE: Malphite Maokai (Maybe on this one, his late game got butchered when his ult was changed.) Nautilus Poppy (again maybe on her, her late game got nerfed pretty badly)Sion (only if the game lasts long enough for his passive to kick in.)Ornn (really Ornn is the God of all late game tanks until the end of time. Due to his passive giving people bonus items. If you want the best of the best late game tanks, master Ornn)

This list isn't 100% accurate so take it with a grain of salt. I just hope it helps.

If you enjoy melee champs there are none unfortunately. Jax and Camille might be better lategame than OTHER MELEE BRUISERS but compared to the rest of the map they are better midgame champions.

I'd advise u to not play toplane at all tho.

If you are looking for challenging bruiser, definitely give a try to Camille. If you want to give a try to mages, Ryze and Vlad might be a nice choices.

Also, ofc Trynd.

Yorick is really great. Very powerful, probably the best splitpusher in the game if you just want to play objectives. Strong sustain and hits really hard. Just remember you can't control Maiden, his R, using clicking. You just need to back off from the tower or something to save her as she follows you. Pressing R again lets her go into a lane without you.

If you don't care about mobility and are good at his ranges, play Darius. He can absolutely forfeit lane and still turn into a lategame nightmare. And if he wins lane, he can stick with his team and absorb tons of damage from the enemy team while killing them.

The only one in the same class as Jax when it comes to lategame as a melee fighter is probably Camilie, not entirely as tanky but her early game and snowball potential are much higher or should be given what i have heard.

Havent actually seen her much.

Then if you do not mind playing some more "lightweight" champions then Fiora might be an option as well, a fair bit squishier than Jax but can still survive things with her W, is easily one of the best 1v1 champs in the game and unlike Jax she does not pause just because the enemy gets armor.

I also heard that DrMundo scales like a monster if you want something heavier than Jax, a bit less damage but is much much tankier and still has good damage.....he has a relatively exploitable early game though so do take care.

In the current meta. Any of them. Top laners never fall off.

What champion is good lategame highly depends on team comps but I'll try to describe from my experience how threatening champions are in the late-game: Almost always extremely threatening if used well: Jax, Kayle, Vladimir, Camille, Ryze, Irelia, Cassiopeia, Yasuo Either needs extreme coordination or can be very threatening if set up right: Gangplank, Mordekaiser, Darius, Kled, Kennen, Tryndamere, Teemo, Yorick, Cho'Gath, Akali, Fiora Can turn games heavily under conditions: Rumble, Malphite, Ornn, Heimerdinger, Rengar, Gnar, Poppy, Nasus Not bad lategame, but will rarely 1v5 games: Sion, Volibear, Renekton, Garen, Shen, Maokai, Riven, Singed, Jayce, Wukong, Mundo Usually pretty bad lategame, but might shine every once in a while: Urgot, Quinn, Aatrox, Illaoi, Olaf, Pantheon

Honestly though few champions are too similar to Jax except maybe Irelia, as a more or less Jax main myself I'd honestly recommend Renekton instead of trying to find a lategame champion that is similar to him. I enjoy Renekton a lot as a Jax player and he's less hard to play than Irelia and Camille, which are hard in comparison to Jax. Renekton is kind of a consistently good champion and is all around solid similar to Jax, just not as insane lategame.

Also I'd recommend trying out Kled too if possible :v

Mind you this list isn't exactly from a statistical or pro perspective, your mileage may vary.

lategame.. hmmm Nasus If you play Nasus, who can be super powerful in the right hands, make sure you practice your farming

I honestly believe kayle is super strong right now. If you get good at timing your ulti and kiting she's a beast when she hits 11 and op when she hits 16. You do have to play super safe early on though
