I need some tips on how to deal with burst as a ADC

After playing this game for a year, I can't help but seem to struggle. I'm getting bursted so much, its unreal. I'm being focused super hard during teamfights. I'm being targeted by assassins and Fighters by getting bursted by a combo, I'm getting pulled, slowed, silenced, knocked up and I can barely hold in a teamfight due to one enemy champ dashing at me constantly damaging me as I attempt to kite away from them. I'm trying to move as far away from the teamfight as possible and pick from a distance by attack moving but I'm struggling to even take down a Nasus who runs past my teammates to focus me.

I clearly need some tips on how to improve and some defensive item suggestions cause maybe I'm clearly doing something wrong,

Aside from knowing the value of the defensive carry items, GA, Scimitar, Boots and Maw being the obvious ones but also Frozen Mallet or even a Thornmail or Frozen Heart, positioning is the main way. There is 2 ways to look at it:

Just survive and do damage if you can Accept you will be jumped on and go in all guns blazin' to deal as much damage as you can before dying.

The decision varies each game and so I cant simply say "do x y z".

Focus on getting vision of the threats before fights, if you know where they are then you should be able to dodge around them effectively. Communicate with your team that you will need peeling is also key.

Honestly most of the time the "solution" would be your teammate's involvement. Can't do much if your team has no frontline, right? As for a few things to think about ---

Keep working on your positioning. Get a better understanding of the champs you'll go against, so you know what they're gonna try to do & where they're gonna go. Your team ain't always gonna be paying attention to it so you have to control your own fate and back off if you know what'll most likely happen in a given situation. Tell them to back off too and they just might.

Get creative with your situational items. Sometimes the meta builds just don't answer the right scenario. For example, I've had to build frozen mallet on ADC before for the extra health and kite-ability. It's obviously not something to build every game but if your items aren't keeping you alive then you need to try something else.

Hope your team peels for you, if not, stay as far back as possible in a fight until the main engage tools are used, that's it. Consider buying MR/Armor boots instead of the usual AS boots, 12% AA reduction can mean the difference between rengar ulting you from 100-0 to 100-10, giving your team a chance to save you. Hexdrinker against MR burst, take it instead of a 2nd zeal item IMO, Guardian angel is also a safe choice but if you get bursted every fight it wont make much of a difference .

You really need to plan the teamfight in your head before it happens.

Like, you need to know the enemies key abilities that you need to dodge/flash/use mobility/use barrier/use QSS/use stopwatch. And be ready for those. You need to know at all times who the people that are gonna threaten you are, and position accordingly, if you don't see a dangerous enemy ALWAYS assume they are in the closest fog of war spot. And don't commit to land a couple autos if you aren't sure you are hitting the correct priority target first. Like, you need to be position so your frontline is between you and assassins/juggers, and focus those first (unless the enemy adc for some reason was out of position in which case you burn it asap, but don't jeopardise yourself in the process, if the enemy carry miss positioned, your own team will most likely have no trouble oneshoting it ) You also need to have a vague idea of how long abilities are gonna be on CD, like if naut missed hook, you need to be experienced enough to know more or less in how long he will have it again. And of course you need to know all enemy champions' abilities.

I know it's hard but that's the only way to master the ADC position. You have picked the hardest position for a new player imo.

Also, play stuff that has innate mobility/get out of jail free card, like lucian or xayah.

What ADCs do you play?

I became an Ezreal main for this very reason. I can avoid and turn on most people who try to hard focus me. However, assuming you're playing traditional, less mobile carries, pick up Phantom Dancer for burst, qss for cc, a Zhonyas if you're a hybrid scaling carry like Kai'sa. Always stay out of range of deadly abilities. For instance, you know the enemy malphite has ult up, don't even get near his range to flash ult you. You need to stay alive.
