I don't know what to make of the Udyr changes.

First glance, looks like a nerf to tiger stance while building mostly defensive. Then, when you see the dot refresh and instant damage, you stop and be like, "woah, that sounds broken." Yeah, he'll be doing less initial damage from one autoattack in tiger stance, but he's meant to be a consistent damage dealer. Not a lot more burst damage unless you do the double tiger stance cheese from a brush or something. The turtle stance changes are very odd, too. Normally, you're not using the lifesteal in his current kit for anything other than jungle camps. You usually just activate turtle early for the shield, then switch into another stance. Not really sure why they're changing turtle. Probably, to make it match how his phoenix stance and new tiger stance works. His mana costs are also going way up, which is my only REAL problem with the changes. He'll be completely blue buff dependent, now. Sound a little sketchy, but his tiger stance is receiving a pretty big buff for AD builds, and a decent buff to tank builds if you can consistently stick to your target. The changes seem to take Udyr away from burst damage, and more to DPS. Will still be ridiculously strong when you have the ability to spam your abilities, though.

Tiger changes are a buff aimed at letting people pick tiger stance with tank builds as opposed to phoenix being the dominant tank choice.

They're changing turtle because if you are building tank, you get nothing out of lifesteal as a stat really. The hope is allow the skill to be more useful by scaling it off tank stats. This would in turn allow him to use it to sustain through tanking (think maokai passive but not as strong).

The mana choices they made I think were their biggest mistake. I don't think they realized how much more you spam your maxed ability than your others early/mid game.

Biggest short ocming in udyr's kit they didn't address is his engage. He is entirely too easily kitable.

Thanks for the W context. That actually makes a lot of sense. Before they change him, try tiger stance with a Youmuu's into full tank. It actually works really well against squishier targets. Or Black cleaver against tanks. item 3715 with cinderhulk or warrior is entirely up to your preference for jungle item. That was my favorite tank build for Tiger stance. Runes can be something like flat AD reds against squishies for Q scaling, or Lethality reds for tankier opponents. Yellows armor or scaling HP depending on preference, with either MR blues or scaling cdr. Quints either flat armor or movement speed, depending on preference.

I like that build a lot.
