I just got a warning message

My league client crashed and refused to open for about 4 minutes. I came back got fed and they FF'd at 20. After the game a pop up said that Apparently I'm going to get punished if my client crashes again because it was my fault for the afk. Not sure if my account will be banned for a 4 minute unintentional afk. This new rule seems very bad considering how unstable the client system is at times. They made me type "I agree" to never afk again. I really hope they refine this system

I didn't lag out today, but man I came close. Every time I paranoidly looked round for the thought police.

i just got this to, my game crashed every time i reached 100%, and i finally got in after like the 10th time and i was gone for about 15mins.. We ended up winning then as soon as game finished i got the same warning you did

Nope, you just gave them confirmation that you agreed to not afk and will be punished for doing so.

However, the punishments aren't gonna be bans. They'll be longer que times. And even if it's not ur fault ur still leaving 4 people with a messed up game. Better off playing with friends who are okay with you dc'ing every game.

Edit: Misread the intentions of the OP. Yeah they've actually always banned people for midgame disconnections even when they reconnect--doesn't matter how long they were gone. It's a messed up system. Someone did an experiment awhile back that showed in most cases the player that disconnects midgame and reconnects gets banned far more frequently than the player that disconnects and never returns.

You would get the same warning even in a 5-man premade.

And yes, we know it's messing them up. It's messing us up too. By that logic, I think RIot's client should be the one punished for ruining the game for all 5 of us. Even with a self-critical mindset, "My client crashed, ruining the game for my teammates. I should be punished so that I don't ruin anyone else's games with semi-rare occurrences outside my control," makes no sense. It's really a terrible move by Riot, and there are definitely easier and better ways to punish intentional leavers without hurting innocent players.

Honestly, I think it would be better to not punish leavers at all (unless manually reported) if any innocent players have to get punished too.

You won't get as many reports aka safer. Leaverbuster has always existed and you'd be punished for the same thing anyway but with more "room" for leaving more games. All they did was increase the rate at which you "earn" the punishment to crack down on leavers and then alleviated the punishment from time bans to a # of low priority queing games.

If you are a frequent leaver then you justly deserve the punishment regardless of excuses. Resolve your issues as they arise and don't continue to hamper on other players' experiences. If you get a random leave from something like internet instability every once in awhile that's still on you. Cuz you know ur internet is unstable but choose to take that risk for yourself and for your 4 allies for them. And I think I speak for all 4 of those allies when I say I'd rather not be forced into the risk that you're taking.

That's rubbish. Fact is I didn't afk,got thrown into low priority queue for 5 games. Utter foolishness. This season Riot has been doing a lot stupid things, every patch just escalates the problems and cause even more. Random,dc from servers etc. AND yet we d player get punished cuz of riot utter stupidity and lack of proper infrastructure. UNFAIR

The warning is simply for your first AFK whilst the new system is in place. Don't worry about it.

my game crashed while i was extremely fed for about 2-3 minutes then at the end i got a message saying do you agree to never leave a game again -_- EDIT1: we won

Yeah, loading crashes should absolutely not cause this... not the player's fault...

I havent even tried to play last two days. Since the horrible connections I was getting right after the re-turn on, and I had three forced dropped games, I havent yet been willing to risk trying a match. Going to give it a few more days to calm down

It would be nice if Riot put as much effort into fixing their infrastructure as they do punishing players.

edit: sorry, non-pro players.
