I don't want to be that guy, but.............

If you were to do the actual math, it comes out to almost 30 billion combinations.

Normally, you would just do 126 to the 5th power, but since you can't have the same champ twice on a team, the math looks like this:

126 x 125 x 124 x 123 x 122

Which, officially, comes out to 29,306,718,000 combinations of teams. . . . . . . . Don't kill me, please.

He said over 5 billion. That number is indeed over 5 billion, so his statement is still perfectly correct! :)

True. I wasn't trying to say he was wrong..............just make it more accurate.

Actually if you counted in bans wouldn't it look more like this: Bans: 126 x 125 x 124 x 123 x 122 x 121 X Picked: 120 x 119 x 118 x 117 x 116 x 115 x 114 x 113 x 112 x 111 so it would be more of ~1.4935809e+33 possible matches based on team comp and bans alone. so ~1493580900000000000000000000000000 matches

Edit: so apparently the * does some sort of formatting thing

I was focusing on one team in a normal game. In a ranked game, if you count both teams, yes, you are correct.

Ah ok I was just a bit confused as you only counted five players

What do you mean? like playing on one map over and over with the same ending? but what makes it diffrent?

each game has a different outcome.

Laraso7 votes

Technically there are only two outcomes;

Red team win Blue team win

Technically there are only two outcomes;

Red team win Blue team win

but many different ways to reach that outcome

Just like almost every sport in the world, that has been around for hundreds of years.

The outcome is not what decides how fun it is, it's getting to the outcome.

Technically there are only two outcomes;

Red team win Blue team win

or Red Team surrenders Blue Team Surrenders

having a Soraka jungle a possible combination...but is it viable?

having a combination without adc isn't viable that's the question i wanted to raise up, as you can see 20 champions being played in every game drop the number of combination by a lot

MetalGearTeemu3 votes

Thats because out of all those heroes only 15-20 ever see play.

Seeing in every normal blind pick Vayne, Yasuo and Katarina...

There ARE more not is more.

I'm somewhat weird with this, but the number of combinations is 244222650, which is less than 1/4th of a billion. Combinatorial mathematics!

That is all. I agree with your point though.

There actually aren't, unless you count Cait jungle, Soraka adc, a team of only adcs, etc....
