Why does Yasuo's Wind Wall spawn from his centre?

ChickenWrap··8 votes·713 views

This is ridiculous. There is _zero_counterplay to that. If I am standing on top of Yasuo and hit him with a spell at point-blank range by putting myself directly in harms way, he should not be able to nullify everything by pressing a button and having an instant response spell or ranged attack "invulnerability"

Likewise if he thinks he can fight me, he shouldn't be able to spawn a wall on top of us and have it completely nullify my entire champion.

It should spawn at least a few units out. This is, simply put, not fair.

May i ask what you were doing face-to-face against a Yasuo as a ranged champion?

Is this sarcasm or have you never played a game of League before?

Well sometimes Yasuo presses Q+R. Other times he presses E. This time in particular? I was a melee champion with projectile spells standing on top of Yasuo and not being able to use any of them because wind wall is a ridiculous mechanic because it spawns from his core and blocks spells that are being cast inside of him.

What do you expect him to do? It's common sense.

I expect his Wind Wall not to block my point-blank Ice Blast simply because he pressed W when I was standing on top of him and it just so happened that he saw my animation start to go off so he pressed Wind Wall. Yes, he should be rewarded for doing this to block it, but not while I'm putting myself in danger by being beside him. It should serve its function properly by blocking spells cast in front of him from the range that a spell would be cast by. But if a spell caster or ranged champion is sitting on top of Yasuo, their spells and attacks shouldn't be negated simply because he pressed W.

There's a difference between a good play and the ridiculousness that is "I pressed W when they got on top of me and cast a spell so I didn't take damage and now they're dead."

So what is Yasuo supposed to do if he wants to block a projectile in melee range? Because if it didn't spawn from his center he would not be able to do that

Then he can cast it backward and run that way or cast it forward and force his opponent into melee range, but if he's already committed or if his enemy has committed and managed to get on top of the melee champion that is Yasuo, they should be rewarded for doing that by actually being able to fight him.

You gotta be kidding^

No, you right. Yasuo should be allowed to have his wind wall come straight out of the middle of his hit box and block spells cast directly on top of him.

It's only fair for him to counter characters in this way because if they're beside him so they don't get blocked by wind wall, they should still get blocked by wind wall =)
