All these Riot responses on boards
But not one of them talking about Dynamic Queue. In the Riot Pls it was specifically addressed that there would be an ongoing conversation regarding solo/dynamic queue. Can we have that conversation now?
In the Riot Pls post it is stated that Riot is looking into ways to make solo ranked a better experience in dynamic queue. My question is; how is this being approached? For a solo player running into a 5 man group while getting several other solos on your team is basically the worst thing that can possibly happen in dynamic queue, but Riot has been pretty adamant that this is a rare occurrence, and I'm willing to believe them. My biggest concern with dynamic queue however is running into 4 man premades on my own team. This can be a coin-flip scenario. Sometimes you get good premades who are friendly and inclusive of the solo player. Other times you get the worst human scum you can imagine; people who are only still allowed to play this game because they queue exclusively with friends so they don't get reported and banned. The type of players who will absolutely take every opportunity to blame the odd-man-out. The solo player.
I've definitely experienced both types of premades, and let me tell you, the good experiences do not make up for the bad. I'd rather be able to queue by myself and risk getting 4 angry, bickering strangers in 90% of my games if it means that I never have to run into an awful 4 man again. But that's evidently not going to happen, so lets discuss ways in which dynamic queue can be improved to the point where the good premades are worth the awful ones.
My first suggestion is a properly developed and integrated VOIP system in League itself. A few days ago in DQ I ran into a 4 man premade. I prepared for the worst, but they actually linked me to their discord server which I joined and I honestly had one of the best ranked games of this season. The competitiveness of the match is debatable, but I had an undeniably fun time with these people, purely because I was able to communicate with them. I'd like to know what are Riot's, and the playerbase's thoughts on integrating voice-chat in League of Legends.
Secondly, I suggest that Riot start including the solo players in their promotional and bonus events. Everything in the past year has been geared towards groups. Bonus IP weekends, the pool party event, even hextech crafting all benefits group play over solo play. I, and many others, would argue that getting to play with your friends should alone be enough incentive to play in groups. Do they really need to get all the cool features to themselves as well? Us solo players are feeling left out.
TL;DR - A month ago Riot Socrates said that Riot isn't trying to be dishonest or dodge the subject, so let's please have a conversation about it. I love this game; I want to help make it better. I've been very critical of Riot over solo queue, and I wont apologize for it. However, I am very happy to see that Riot appears to be willing to initiate discussion on the matter. I want to believe that Riot has learned from this whole experience. I want to believe that Riot is willing to attempt to fix the damage they've done. So let's talk about this.
