If Vel is being addressed in the Mage update
Maybe buff the scaling on his q a bit, and make it so his w does increased minion damage. That way, people max q for the poke centric geometry, while W can still clear the wave.

His position in balance right now is alright, but his kit could use a little bit of tuning.
I believe the problem they had with him was that he wasn't unique enough. This doesn't do anything to address that, you're only suggesting buffs that he doesn't need.
Pls don't rework the geometry
