I think people complained about them a lot but idk, I can't even find the patch were they were removed (if the patch talked about it). I think they were removed around Novemeber of 2016, but I haven't found any Riot response why.

To be honest I prefered that over the emotes. That's the real BM tool, while Riot calls it a "way to communicate with other players without typing in chat".

I think Teemo is still the best BM champion. I just laugh while stealth around the person. I find it to be hilarious when they don't have any AoE to find me, etc. Just sit there and they look like they are twisting around trying to find me >:3

Pretty sure they can. I've had people circle around the bush looking for me despite no indication I'd be there otherwise, I haven't played Teemo/much less summoner's rift (outside of rotational queues) in ages though so I'm not 100% sure if that's still the case. But it was probably my favorite thing to do with the little troll.
