Ganking: Burn Enemy Flash or Deal Damage to Enemy?

As the title suggests I don't know if burning flash is more worth ganking for or chunking 50% of their hp is better.

Scenario: Jax jumps ontoSyndra . Syndra can not use her stun to peel. She will take 25% of her max hp from Jax in damage and 25% of her max hp from the friendly Viktor as damage. Jax can activate his E early to stop Syndra before she flashes and deal a chunk of damage. Otherwise, he can keep his E alive for as long as possible so Syndra is stunned later after more damage has been initially dealt and thus dealing more damage which forces her to flash or to back and lose her lane heavily. So, the question is: Stun early and deal damage fast but the enemy mid retains flash OR deal damage slower but in greater amounts overall which can only be negated by flashing which the end result is more health for the enemy mid laner but no flash. Which one?

Holding: Jump (Can flash here), auto, empowered auto, auto, stun if no flash, ensuing damage and high kill chance Immediate: Jump (Need fast reaction time to flash), Stun, Auto, Empowered Auto, and depending on the position of the friendly mid laner, the enemy laner can retreat with low hp without burning flash in this instance.

Optimally, you would chunk HP early and Syndra flashes and it's the best of both worlds thanks to chaining CC but in reality, it doesn't always work out this way.

Flash and 45% hp or No Flash and 80% hp?

Edit: Comment if the poll answer depends on the circumstances of the game

get flash, without flash the enemy is pressure at lane from ganks since they dont have flash anymore to escape and in a risky situation, they will lose farm and ur laner will have easier time dominating that lane with their flash up.

Chunking them at best forced them to back once or play safe in lane for a short while, but if you try to gank them again or all in them they can probably just flash away, especially if they are already being careful since they have already been ganked recently.

Blowing their flash makes them food for 5 minutes if you are a champion that can all in them but usually can't go in because you could get kited by flash and die (such as a melee vs jayce, kennen, quin, teemo, etc.). In these cases, blowing the enemy flash means they are no longer able to lane bully you since they will likely just die if they try and so the lane becomes much easier for the melee champion even if they never chose to go for an all in 1v1 since the potential is enough to push back a good portion of that ranged harass pressure.

It's better to get summoner because that does 2 things:

  • allows you to secure a kill in the 3 minute period that you know she won't have flash
  • Allows your mid laner to be very aggressive.

Getting flash is always optimal, but sometimes chunking them can force them to either back or play safer because they can get all inned by their lane opponent

sometimes a gank is successful if you just force the target back a bit so your laner can get some CS if theyre behind and getting pushed up

It depends on the match up, really.

If flash is gonna cockblock your laner from getting a kill, and they have kill potential without you getting them low, then burn their flash.

However, say a Twisted Fate doesn't care about flash - his target either flashes before he Gold Cards or they don't. If they need to, then that was a pretty stupid mistake to get into Gold Card range in the first place. But Twisted Fate can still flash onto them. That's because Gold Card will stun them - it doesn't matter if they have Flash up if they die before being able to use it. However, Twisted Fate can't 100-0 them. So in this scenario, it's far better to deal more damage and have them keep their flash.

Say you'r laner is Fiora. Fiora can 100-0 most people if she can stick - well, probably not the best example, but lets just go with it. If they are at 50% but have flash, they can still get away by flashing under tower or matching Fiora's flash. But if they don't have flash, they can't. Assuming Fiora can stick to them if they don't have Flash, she should be able to flash into range and kill her target.

Also, burning Flash is good if you plan on revisiting the lane in the next 5 minutes.

The biggest thing I want to see is that if my jungler blows the enemies flash is that you come back within 5 minutes. So many times jungle blows the enemy flash so they just sit 50 feet away and I can't really do anything to punish them. If my jungle just came back at some point during that 5 minutes, we might actually get a kill for that blown summoner. Obviously having a sum down helps the laner, but if you know a summoner is down and don't come back to the lane, what did you actually accomplish by blowing it?

I had a game as Ori vs Karma mid lane. The enemy Gragas walked into my lane and E'd so I flashed. I didn't see him again for like 10 minutes. I was an Ori with only Ghost vs a Karma with Ghost Flash and a Gragas jungle I assume with Flash up. All they had to do was Gragas starts walking in and Karma flash W's me for a pretty guaranteed snare so Gragas can get the follow up stun. It would've been the easiest gank every but they never did it.

Multiple games the enemy Ashe Mf bot lane blow all sums during an all in and despite them being under my tower, no one comes to help despite having a Yi or Lee or Hec jungler.
