http://elohell.net/public/items/Blade_of_the_Ruined_King_item1.png #Blade of the Ruined King:

This item was nerfed overly in two ways, the two things that made it shine and that now turned it into a middle game item (except for Vayne and maybe Kog), and I must say I am ok with that, but for those of you who don't remember, here is the deal:

The on-hit: before the nerf this item used to deal 8% of the current life of the target as physical damage and healed the user for the bonus damage dealt, now it just heals you for the % life steal it grants and the damage was reduced to 6%... and to break it down to you, I am ok with that!

The Active: this one used to deal 15% of the target max life as physical damage and heal the user for the damage dealt (plus stealing movement speed), the only nerf it received was the reduction of the damage, as it was reduced to 10%, but they added a minimum to it, and I'm ok with this!

#The Problem: This item was changed to a mid game item, and it depends not only in attack speed but also it depends upon Armor Penetration to do it's job properly (and I use armor penetration runes whenever I plan to used BortK), the problem mainly is one, since it builds from item 1043 the on-hit may get to a point where it has no power at all, and even during the early game against squishies some time it results to be better to not build the BortK completely in terms of damage output, so the way to fix it is to add a minimum damage per hit (15, the same of recurve bow), so that the item doesn't get to a point where it looses grip, specially considering that when you complete it it doesn't gain attack damage compared to item 3144, it doesn't gain life steal compared to it either, and the attack speed increase is only about 15% compared to item 1043, wich means little to a recipe that costs 750 gold (with 250 more you could just buy another item 1043 -if only their passives stacked-). So to compense this power lost it should gain a minimum damage, damn, the maths would even be ok with 10 of minimum damage.

Tell me what you think, if you like this hit like, if you don't hit dislike. Also tell me if you have any item that troubles you, if it is needing an small buff or a nerf.

BotRK actually does have a minimum of 10 damage. It's just not listed on the tooltip because it's not often relevant. (Your target has to have 150 HP or less for BotRK's on-hit to actually drop below 10 damage.)

I wonder if they updated the minimum to 15 when they buffed Recurve's on-hit damage to 15, though...

They should list it in then, it feels a lot weaker than item 1043 at certain point, it shoul always do a minimum of 15 damage, and maybe upgrade it to have 5 bonus AD.

Personally, I've never liked Botrk ever since they reworked it into an attack speed item. Whenever its strong, it warps the game with its existence. Honestly, it should just be removed. Nearly every champion these days has %hp damage in some form anyway.

..... nope, just nope.

It does, I hope Riot takes some actions about it, I am the kind of person that worries more about the state of items and masteries than about champions, because currently averyone concerns about champion kits and it seems that almost no one thinks about items, wich are the ones that in a way or another decide the meta as well, and it also seems that it happens too inside Riot staff, it is rare when we see them adjusting items to balance their power, not even in slight ways as they do with champions (they left the broken Rageblade for too long before adjusting it).

I like these changes but I've also talked to a challenger nocturne main who used to build it on noc every game and he said the stats that the items gives are too little for how much the item costs. It's no as cost efficient and he also said that when you complete Bork youvsre much weaker than you would be with youmous or hydra. I agreed with him on everything here and while you suggestions are on point here I'd like to see 100g less of a cost and 10 more ad on the item to make it More of a cost efficient item.

5 more AD and a minimum to on-hit damage would actually do the trick, currently BorTK is lacking, but hey lets complain ONLY about the currently OP champ xD

I actually agree I feel like 10 more ad on vaynes core item would make her obnoxious

Agreed, but I think it would be worst on kog, at least those are champs that with a hard dive comp are easy to screw all over.

wow really nice. love if you'd continue these and love the idea of bork getting a derivative of the recurve bow passive

this item was overpowered as hell. it was intended as a nieche item and ended up being taken on almost any adc. not only that, but certain champions got ridicuous power spikes out of building this thing.

it was never meant to be built every single game no matter if your opponent is even building health.

the item was partially nerfed, but rightfully so. its place as a general health counter was taken by item 3034 and item 3036

bork together with giant slayer is still pretty damn effective.

there is also another problem. if riot was to buff bork, it would be absolutely broken in combination with the new rageblade. this item combnation is actually already borderline op.

and finally, health stacking is simply not an issue. all the champions who like stacking health arent in a very good spot or too strong right now. health stacking tanks and juggernauts are nowhere near the meta. i dont see a reason to buff bork and take a crap on them.

there would simply be no reason to buff bork right now, other than the item isnt picked a lot. but its not supposed to be picked a lot. its only supposed to exist as a backup option against full bruiser/tank teams, similar to how thornmail is supposed to be a backup against too many carries. and those teams arent happening right now.

we honestly need thornmail buffs before we need bork buffs.

the tanks and bruisers that are strong right now are so due to sustain options and built in sustain in their kits. not because health pools are too large.

The problem is that the buff I'm addressing is not directed against tanks but against squishies, causing it to deal a minimum damage and maybe add 5 more AD wouldn't break rageblade more than it already is.

BUT I DAMN agree with you, Thornmail needs some serius buffs.

i dont know. making bork any more than a nieche pick in general would already be a nerf to fighters and tanks, if it would make the item more present in games, next to dominiks.

the item simply isnt supposed to be good against squishies. because then it would be bought by certain champions like vayne regardless of the opponent theyre facing.

Doesn't it already have this?
