Does anyone else feel like Armor Pen stacking is still an issue?
It's a less popular topic on the boards at the moment. And with Armor Pen I mean all forms of Armor Penetration: Lethality, % Armor Pen, % bonus Armor Pen, % Armor Reduction, flat Armor Reduction, etc.
I'm grateful for the changes that have been made, but I feel like the nerfs only reduced the prominence of the issue. They didn't really solve it. And nerfing the Lethality items again won't solve it either because the issue isn't the Lethality items on their own, it's the way the current forms of Armor Penetration work together.
Mag Pen doesn't have this issue because there's less Magic Pen than there is Armor Pen. If Mages had an item that reduced enemies' Magic Resistance by 30% and one more +15 Magic Penetration item that can be bought by three fourths of all Mages they'd have exact same issue.
Armor Pen just crossed some invisible line and unless Riot wants to delete or rework an item again, they have to find a systematic solution to this problem.
I say add a cap to Penetration: "You may only bypass (60 + (40% of target's unreduced bonus Armor)) Armor." Others say you should shift around the order in which the different forms of Penetration apply. I'm pretty sure you will find your own solution, or else you would have at least considered one of ours already. But please do find something.
