Pet peeve: having your knockback knocked back.

Does it annoy anyone else when you set up a charge knock back like Poppy E or Sejuani Q only to be knocked back by a Gragas body slam or Vayne bolt because they activated them after you?

Like, I'm coming down to gank Vayne, and every time I charge her she seems to have that knock back off cooldown and makes my engage pointless.

This is probably balanced for a reason I don't really know (I guess you need some counterplay to engage beyond dodging), but it's really freaking frustrating when I go to slam Gragas and he's just like "bitch, I'm a master of the belly bash style!" And knocks me back mid dash.

Again, I'm sure there's a reason for this balance wise, but it annoys the crap out of me.

You're using an ability with a dash which isnt a displacement/CC until it hits. Dash is just a movement effect so their displacement takes place before your effect even happens. Some are super hard to pull off but highly rewarding when it does

IE. When I Syndra vs LeBlanc their dash is SUPER fast but I save Q-E stun knockback as they're dashing in so they dont do any damage, ability put on CD, get stunned and take huge free damage. If I don't cast the interrupt fast enough I'll take the full LB combo burst.

My bigger pet peeve is when some abilities allow the disruption but others don't. Like Zac slingshot in mid-air can be stopped by something like a Darius hook but not a Lux snare which just flies through/underneath him :/

It works that way for all dashes, a displacement mid dash interrupts it. It could be Thresh flaying Leblanc mid dash, or Gragas bopping Poppy mid dash, or Poppy bopping Gragas mid dash.

Poppy at least has her no dash zone to counter some of the counter play.

I guess it just annoys me because their displacement beats my displacement because they went second.

I'll accept it exists and it promotes healthy counterplay, but by Jove I find it infuriating.

...because they went second.

Not really sure that's how it works. It's more any displace that hits you befor you hit anyone with your dash will cancle it, which for dash vs dash probably means the bigger hitbox always wins. I can't recall winning that shit vs gragas no matter whether he was first or second. Neither can i Remember winning it with Shyvana and her ult, wether second or first, which probably is one more proof for how shitty her ult-hitbox is....

If Quinn Vaults in the same direction as an enemy Tristana is jumping away (Even if Trist is halfway through the animation) Tristana will be pulled backwards.

You are wrong in how you perceive the mechanics.

The examples you have (Poppy's E and Sejauni's dash) are dashes before being CC abilities. The CC part comes after making contact, if you make contact at all. That being said, there's also another thing... all dashes are interrupted by displacement abilities (Knock-ups, knock-backs, knock-asides) and nothing but displacement abilities, where as getting hit by other motion restriction CC will wait for the dash to finish before taking affect. The only exception to this rule is Yasuo's dash, as his dash is interrupted by all motion restricting CC, but people can't seem to figure this out because of all the salt they exude.

Now that I corrected you, I have no idea how dash with displacement effect vs another dash with displacement effect works out, especially in mirror matches.

Ok, so take Poppy's E and Gragas's body slam. Poppy E is a dash, but upon hitting the target it carries them a fixed distance in the hopes of a wall stun.

At least three times I've tried to E a Gragas and it gets cancelled by his body slam. It's like I'm recoiling off of his fat and I feel it's only because I went first.

It's really frustrating.
