Who is going to use the new manaflow band?
I do some theory crafting, and I've actually come up with quite a few builds, champs in new roles, and some item combo's that eventually became meta. Today, I want to discuss a few champs I can imagine using the new manaflow band and quickly talk about WHY they might take it.
The first and most obvious answer to everyone is tear users. Things like ryze and cassio who get extra mana to not go oom while they spam stack their tear. Besides the extra mana and the ease of stacking manaflow band, they get extra ap due to archangel's staff. And ryze further benefits because he get damage scaling off max mana.
The second set that MIGHT - and this is more personal preference - use the new manaflow band is supports. If they are supports who want to go AP and not a heal/shield bot, they are generally building a ton of ap, but don't get the luxury of a mana or mana-regen heavy item early on. This can leave them oom pretty fast and at some inopportune times. Again, they can stack it pretty easily in lane. So, an extra mana pool to let you get one more spell rotation or so might be valued by SOME, but not all.
The third and I think REAL winner here is... jayce. Jayce kinda lost the ability to go manamune to help him deal with mana issues which limits his ability to spam out his spells and limits his aggression. Giving some extra mana regen and extra mana will allow him to play more agro in lane. It might (although I doubt it) even convince people to go back to manamune jayce. An extra few e+q shockblasts in lane can mean the difference between an opponent forced to base and a dead opponent. And that's exactly what the new manaflow band should offer to jayce.
