Why there is nothing similar to DFT in new runes?

What about champions who Death Fire Touch is essential on? Brand Karthus Malzahar Singed Swain and sometimes Cassiopeia Jhin MissFortune Veigar ? What should they pick? I feel like every new dmg rune focuses on burst.

Question: Is more DoT really necessary on DoT champs, wouldn't it be better for more flat damage and move-speed?

I think they'd all be better off using move-speed. For example, once Brand does his rotation he's more or less defenseless so move speed should be nice for backing off or for putting in autos while avoiding retaliation and waiting for cd's to comeback up.

Swain, Karthus and Singed rely on being relatively close to enemies to do damage so more move-speed should be good, right?

Maybe you are right. But following that logic, but burst mages need more burst which they can get from runes? Why adc need more AD or attack speed? And as far as meteor can be used on Cass and Brand, it won't be good on Singed. And since he has new passive he doesn't need more mov speed.

https://i.imgflip.com/jvf94.jpg Idk if this is on the website yet but in PBE Press the Attack now adapts to ad or ap. I'm not sure if this stacks with DoT abilities(gonna test just for you <3) but it's something right?

Problem is, I don't see much freedom for ap champs building in the Precision tree. Primarily just: Press the Attack>Presence of Mind>Legend: Alacrity/Bloodline>Coup De Grace. Also building this tree in addition to anything else only gives additional attack speed. This build path would probably only be ideal for the likes of KayleTeemoand Ezreal maybe.

Edit: It doesn't stack with DoT.

What does it mean it doesn't stack? Let's use Singed as example. When I use Q on enemy I get one stack? Does the AP stay for the rest of game or after some time I lose it? Sorry, but I don't quite understand this rune

Also thx for testing this for me :D

Ah sorry for not being specific, it seems to only stack on auto attack. I tested this with Singed specifically, no matter how long/ how much Q was on near an enemy it did nothing but the usual damage and didn't trigger the keystone whatsoever. I should probably test it with other champions but I doubt it'll work.

And no problem :)

Edit: I've tested with Brand, no effect besides autos so it seems to not work with abilities, I'll confirm this with Ezreal to see if it's on-hit effects and Zyra.

Edit 2: Ezreal's Q works yet not his E so we can assume it works with abilities that apply on-hit. Zyra's plants don't proc it either which isn't very surprising :l

Scorch - can be found in sorcery. It's not a keystone and it now has a cooldown.

Arcane meteor can probably be used on some of those champions for poking, but it won't synergize as well as DFT does with some champions like karthus and cass.

apparantly press the attack grants an adaptive ad or ap bonus.

its not updated properly on the preseason page yet. i dont know how it works with multi hit abilities though.

It's a boring keystone that doesn't have any effect on gameplay. It can be replaced by just buffing those champions.

How are any of the current keystones really gameplay changes.

Ferocity you have Better laning, Lategame damge, Stronger dots Cunning you have Hyper mode, "Instant" kill, and support stuff Resolve you have Tanky damage, Sheilds, Life and ally heals.

And to be honest none of those change how you play a champ. If I run Thunderlords, Stormraders on an assassin I fight the same way. If I have Warlords or FOB I auto the same way as an ADC. Brand if I use DFT or Thunderlords I use my spell combos the same. So really why remove one because "more damage isnt effect on gameplay"???

And for your second point why buff champs when all that does is add more problems then just by keeping the keystone? Now you do what make casio DPS higher but let her also use thunderlords so its a free double keystone?

The current keystones are only slightly more interesting than DFT so I can see how you don't see the big deal if you look at it relative to the current masteries. Like you said, TLD is not interesting and personally I'm disappointed that they kept it in the new system.

However, the upcoming runes are way more interesting and DFT would be an issue in that context because champs like Brand, Malz, etc... would be forced to use DFT so you would be missing out on more interesting gameplay which you could have if those champs weren't forced into a keystone that oversynergizes with them, and consequently Riot undertunes their base damage to balance out.
