Why is it okay for ADCs to be tanky now?

Yet just last season (or possibly season 4) items were nerfed because they were "too standard" on ADCs, because it made them have more survivability. Last match I had I couldn't 1v1 a Caitlyn as fed Akali because her Maw made her so beefy and have so much lifesteal that she just wouldn't die.

Honestly, simple fix is just to make it so items like Maw only confer 1/2 of the bonus to ranged champions, or with lower max health comes lower lifesteal %

I get that every champion or role has the right to be able to stay alive during team fights, but isn't the job of a support to keep the ADC alive?

Caitlyn had 2 levels, 8 more kills, and 220 more cs than you. She had 8k more gold than you. What were you expecting?

But Cait was even more fed than you. When she built maw she had a 5k gold lead on you. I'm assuming she was also probably 2 levels ahead of you as well. Also she had a Merc Scimitar to max out her MR. It's not unreasonable that you lost that exchange.
