I can't be the only one that thinks this is extremely bad manners? 99% of the time when me or my team does bad, the last thing I wanna see is someone rub it in my face that we did shitty.

if you report people for saying gg ez is about as poor sportsmanship as it gets. this game is competitive and if you cant handle a little shit talking after getting outplayed you don't need to play this game. if you get butt hurt at gg ez then you are going to have some problems when you start having to deal with real life things. get over it and stop sucking.

Except I didn't join League to "Handle a little shit talking". I joined it to have fun and joke with people. If you consider it fun to demean the other team because you outplayed them, then YOU have no right to play. People have varying skill levels, and like all other League players, I'm sure you don't understand that "get over it and stop sucking" isn't suddenly gonna make me go "HOLY HELL I'M A CHALLENGER TIER PLAYER!" We all have flaws and problems with how we play and rubbing it in someone's face doesn't make them better, it does one of four things.

1 - They don't want to keep playing because they're sick of the toxicity 2 - They get angry and respond and become toxic themselves 3 - They shit talk themselves 4 - They don't care about the shit talk

3/4 of those things are negative.

So from now on when you wanna talk shit, maybe instead you should give pointers on what they did wrong? Like "Hey Nasus, don't try to 1v1 Olaf when his ult is up" or "Jinx, use your ult to execute people, not to harass".

Notice how those two things would help someone?

Now tell me, if you did one of those things and I said "LOL SCRUB GET GOOD YOU SUCK LEARN TO PLAY", what have you learned? That I'm an asshole. That's the only thing you learned.

3/4 of those things shouldn't happen. I don't pride myself on being a good player at all. not even a good person, and truth be told i don't smack talk like every once in a blue moon. I do however lose my fair share of games so i know how being talked smack too feels and i say more power to them. I deserved that loss so yes rub it in. if i would have done better and won then that would have denied them the shit talk. So i try to do better. Getting butt hurt and reporting people is just piss poor manner and as for getting fined in the pros for shit talking, that's piss poor too IMO

Except again, it's no one's right to make you feel like shit for losing. Everyone does it. Essentially what that means, is unless you can achieve 100% win rate, you need to be subjected to people with poor manners and poor sportsmanship. "Piss poor" are people who need to take the fact that they won to the next level and make the enemy team angry or frustrated. It's the toxic players fault for being an asshole, not the people's fault who react to it. The same principal could be applied to many situations. You and I are having a verbal argument, yelling and screaming at each other. Next thing I know, you pull a gun on me and try to shoot me. You fail to. The police show up and agree that we both are equally at fault for it and tell us both to go home.

No, YOU escalated the situation for no reason what-so-ever.

Also, "piss poor" is a term that should be used for people who need to shit talk any time they win, because in my 4 years of experience playing League, this game Season 1-2 were the shit, 3 was meh, 4 has been the most toxic it's ever been. And most of those players who say "GG ez" at the end of the match, are the same players who rage quit most games when they're losing.

No. There is competitive banter and then there's just being an asshole. "GG EZ" 99.99% of the time is just being an asshole. People will say it when they win a 4v5. People will say it when the game was close. People will say when they got carried.

And no, being a dick in real life will cause YOU problems. It's a good way to get HR to call you in for a little "shit talking" before they send you on your merry way to unemployment. Or a penalty or to the sidelines if you're playing a sport. Harassment is not really tolerated in real life because, surprise surprise, people have enough crap to deal with already without having to deal with you.

There's no reason to be a dick about having a good game. None.

I think if you wanted to report someone it really does come down to the tribunal. In my opinion I would never vote to punish someone for it. What if there is an ezreal in the game? idk, kind of a grey area. Also people need to just relax its one match in a video game don't people have bigger things to worry about than someone saying gg ez?

Yes, but when Probably 1/2 my matches someone says this, whether on my team or not, that's when it gets out of hand. No one likes having it rubbed in their face that they lost. And muting everyone, or removing cross team chat isn't a solution. It's the same principal as people are getting robbed on your street and you know who it is, but rather than report them and stop them from doing the same to others, you just put up a security system and call it good.

There was already an official thread about this exact phrase, a Riot employee has already said it's up for interpretation, but if you feel it is offensive or negative then report it as so. Kind of a vague answer I know. -__- But whatever I don't really mind it.

But see, the fact is, what you consider "shit talk", I consider unneeded and unwarranted. I didn't join League to have every loss rubbed in my face and smeared across the game and post-game like metaphorical monkey shit. I joined to have fun. I don't find it "fun" to be reminded at the end of the game that I did poorly. That's the thing, I shouldn't have to put up with a "bit of shit talk" because that's not the standard of game any company should aim for. Because you saying it's "League of Babies" because I don't like shit talk is completely wrong. I didn't join to listen to people talk about how they're "so good". I wanna play and have fun, not listen to the enemy team brag about every kill they get. Inb4 "Don't let them get kills"

THEN QUIT LOSING LOSER! if you lose then yes...the other team has bragging rights...you can ignore them but no one should be reported for rubbing their win in your face, especially when the means to ignore this behavior are easily implemented and are what they are intended for.

Untrue, if I lose, the enemy team does NOT have bragging rights, because bragging about winning is poor sportsmanship. No one wants to have it rubbed in their face that they lost. I shouldn't have to ignore every person I see just to avoid seeing toxic players. It should be innate that we all should respect each other and help each other, not demean each other for every little mistake you make, yet when you make an extremely well made play, you get ignored. Everyone loses a game. EVERYONE. Even Challenger Tier players. Rubbing it in someone's face literally doesn't help anyone. It damages the community and makes being toxic seem like the "norm"

Move to Maine, you'll see what I mean. Almost this entire state is what you just quoted. We respect each other and help each other out. If you're broken down on the side of the road, chances are, 10-15 people will stop and ask if you need help. They'll offer you rides to gas stations, they'll offer you gas if you need it, they'll change a flat, or outright fix your car if they can. Is it so difficult for people to be polite and helpful that it's considered a "fantasy rainbow and unicorn land" if they are?

There is actually a thread about this already With a red post on it twice. One of the red's posts says you won't get banned for saying GG EZ.

I also think it is rude, unsportsman like AND is only said to insult 5 people. O what a great insult it is when you can type 4 letters and figuratively slap 5 people in the face... The time value is great AND riot won't punish you for it. They will punish the guy who says "report player X for saying it" But not the jerk who just wanted to insult you all and rub your face in your lose so you get frustrated and have negative feelings about the game in an attempt to make the game no fun for you... No that guy is safe.
