item 2303 item 2302 item 2301 I dont really see a reason to build them over item 3401 item 3069 item 3092 or am I missing something?

Well u merge Sightstone into Gold income item, giving u one extra slot.

It might be slot efficient, but

  1. Supports probably wont get 6 items that often anyway
  2. The stats are pretty awful compared to the other items but they still cost the same and 3) The actives of the old items are like... game changing considering their cooldown

That depends on the player. Personally I like the new Supp items and think they do a great job.

item 3069 active can be pretty usefull in chase, escape situations, but item 2302 gives you equivalent stats, some health, and free a slot in your inventory, so if you really want the active get a righteous glory and get some more HP/mana to make full use of your empty slot.

The new actives on item 3092 is straight down useless, they remove twin shadow because its never used mainly because its a bad version of morello with a shitty active and then they turn item 3092 in a worse version of twin shadow. Getting item 2301 gives you some ap, the mendatory sightstone active, gold income and mana regen in one slot, and you can make place for an item better than frost fang.

item 3401 shield isn't that great, and item 2303 gives you the same amount of health and regen as face the mountain + a free slot.

What? From what Ive seen the new item 3092 is actually pretty op. It slows by 40% for 4 seconds, which is forever in League- time. To put in perspective, max rank Gnar Q has a 35% slow and this shit makes you feel like you cant move at all + it only slows for 2s lol. Oh and also it can hit 2 champs at once so... thats cool.

Technically you pay 800 gold for those actives, which is more than worth imo and you can get item 2045, which is great and reduces their CD even more.

Our support the other day used the active to check for enemies while warding but I was fighting Yasuo at the time and one of the ghosts came up and slowed them down while they were running away from me which allowed me to catch up and kill them. She didn't even understand how she got an assist until I explained it to her. :D

Spooky ghosts is a good active. I like that they put it on FQC instead of the tacky skillshot slow. I've used it in 3 games with good results, it's a good chasing and kiting tool.

Talisman has one of the strongest active in the game, certainly the strongest support active in the game, on a CD that's ridiculously low. I would never get the coin+SS item over Talisman. You're right that item 3800 glory exists but it's a lot longer (more money) to build, the speed buff can't be used defensively, the CD is longer, and if you're a squishy utility support you're likely not making much use of the AoE slow that follows.

Basically, you would rather have the extra slot than the item active.

Penns1 votes

Who would rather have that? Because I certainly wouldnt even if I needed the item slot. Also item 2045 is pretty good now, so...

Aeolian Melodies1 votes

It's an extra slot compared to having the gold item + SS.

I don't think it's worth over Talisman or even the new FCQ active, but if I played a tank support with item 3302 I'd definitely get that over item 3401 .

I'm loving that new one on Soraka.

I might consider getting the new combo sightstone/support items if it was lategame enough that I could sell both the ruby sightstone and the FotM/FQC/ToA and immediately buy the other one and a new full item.

But even then that only occurs super lategame post-full build on a support champion and also I would only do that if it was obvious that I needed more raw power as opposed to utility in fights to make an impact. So, basically never.

It might happen one day when I get insanely fed on Sona though, but it certainly has not happened yet.

Hmmm, I just realized that maybe the intention is to find a way to incentivize non-supports buying sightstone since just purchasing wards is no longer an option. So perhaps they are not intended for supports at all.

Penns1 votes

Maybe, but their stats are too bad for any non- support and their passives are still made for supports. I think youd be better off just getting item 2045 or no upgrade for item 2049 at all.

considering that they build from the support gold income items, I doubt it

Personally it feels more like a lategame option. I'm not sure it's worth the gold to delay one of your other items.

I think i would only build the new items if i was playing support and my adc was not very good and i ended up getting a couple early kills so that i expected to have to carry (in which case the extra slot becomes a lot more attractive).
