Why is all of silver more difficult than high gold?

You'd think that doing simple tasks such as knowing a champion before picking it would be simple, yet game after game, I see that it isn't the case.

Anyone else notice this odd phenomenon and just shake your head in wonder?

Your chances of winning a Silver game are 50/50. The reason is because someone in Silver ALWAYS feeds. This person might be on your team or the enemy team. In Gold people don't feed as hard. If you're actually good then gold is easier to get out of by simply outplaying and snowballing through objectives. People in Gold understand when they have the lead so they will work together to push objectives. The chances of a team listening in Silver is like 35%.

but if you get fed on the other hand its easier for you to get the rest of your team fed and abuse your advantage

i dont know much about silver, but it didnt take long to get out of it

That's why its a 50/50. Honestly silver is the most toxic out of all the leagues. You got lucky you got out of there quickly. Last season I was in silver all year getting to Silver 1 and then getting demoted. When I finally hit gold, in 2 weeks I got to gold 1.

From what I can tell, it's a lot of people who have some understanding of how to play mixed with people who were higher and got people who CAN'T play during their provisionals and have to climb back up.

The ones who are much better steamroll the ones who probably shouldn't have made it past bronze and you could be on the receiving end of that butt-plunging. Whoever has the worst player/bot lane usually loses though.

I was reading a book about playing poker that may enlighten this for you a little bit. One approach to poker says that you should assume that your opponent will play optimally. This has implications in how you should play in response. And while optimal play will still result in eventually getting ahead of them, the author was saying that if you adjust your play against someone that you know is bad, you can actually get ahead faster than if you play "optimally".

Just an idea for your consideration.
