I'm Jax I press R, Perma E try to do hit me. Ok Riot, nice you haven't seen that coming? Well now every single Jax goes Spear of shojin as a core item instead of a situational item.

Riven only has a barrier. Dodge both charges Jax's damage output and makes him immune to all auto attacks.

Original riot tested very well. Thats why they hard capped 40% cdr, and made it so you had to choose between cdr and a damage item.

Yea ok, Essence Reaver was a situational item because it gave mana instead of health. Spear of shojin gives hp which benefit any bruisers by default who loves having damage and hp. On top of that those bruiser who abuse spear of shojin will get a larger shield thanks to sterak cage. Technically Spear of Shojin is efficient as the game goes on. Oh and lets not forget they get capped CDR if they go Black cleaver + spear of shojin or Trinity Force + Spear of shojin.

Essence Reaver was a more situational item than Spear of Shojin.

ER was better than shojin as an item. It is just that jax doesn't need the extra AD like riven does (even if she use it, the item isn't as good on her on term of stat) and is still a VERY VERY strong champ even after the nerf.

It was the same exact item, except ER had mana, and shojin has HP. HP matters more.

ER was cheaper and had more AD. Everyone was saying that the item having mana baited people in thinking it wasn't super good for its cost and that manaless champion like renekton wouldn't love it. The item is more expensive, have less AD and you don't care for the small amount of HP.

Every Riven main would tell you the same.

Riot new this would happen actually. They wanted a good item for bruisers for once and made that instead. Then they changed conq so its weaker on some bruisers and better on other classes. Im sensing soon to be nerfs to bruisers and then they finally get rid of shojin.

Conquerer is by far back to where it was. They took it away from most other classes through that 2 second ranged nerf. You can't even keep it up for 2 seconds on Zyra. You can't keep it active on most adcs. It's pretty much a Melee skill still, except maybe Casseopeia. And it's permanently active now on certain champs. All Riven has to do to keep it active is hit a champ with Q once in every 8 seconds, and then she can get 60 free AD for farming lane. On Melee, it's basically a free 7th item.
