It seems that whatever the meta is, people complain more about it than express positivity about it. Has there ever been a meta that people have almost universally enjoyed?

Cinderhulk meta was pretty fun.

There were some outliers; Gragas and Sejuani were a bit strong, and Mundo w/Cinderhulk top was a nuisance, but otherwise it was an all around fun meta where you could get away with any role and be effective.

you will always have complaints, the people who are content with the game dont feel as strongly as those who are buthurt, and dont voice their opinions as much.

take into all the account all the players who play the game and dont complain.

No meta was perfect

but god, i miss playing renekton/jax/singed having a laning phase of 20 min destroying the dude in 1v1, being usefull in teamfight, splitpushing and bringing the entire enemy team on me because they couldn't push faster than me (unlike now)

i miss playing tanky supports aka taric/alistar and winning 2v2 against enemy team because they have poke and poke<fighting which means if you picked a mage support you would lose 2v2

i miss long duration teamfight i miss long duration games

i miss season 2

Season 2 and before, when there was no meta. People picked whatever and went to whatever lane. The most OP champs in the game were Mordekaiser and Tryndamere who were both kitable and have clear counterplay and weaknesses and lack CC.

Season 5 meta was perfect- remember when any marksmen could be picked @ bot lane? and the juggernauts weren't even that bad considering darius and morde were perma banned.
