Can we stop fearing ap support items?

Am I the ONLY guy that's legitimately tired of building EVERY support with nearly full tank stats until I'm 4 slots? Like, am I the ONLY GUY that thinks it's lame as hell that when I'm playing to win, my Sona build is my Lulu build is my Nami build is my Karma build? Am I THE ONLY GUY that realized that "Hey, tank supports build tank stats to get a bit tanky, why do enchanters/mage supports build...tank stats to get a bit tanky?"

This isn't "fun" support play. Idk how many threads I made on it but holy hell I'm tired of building Redemption + Locket all the time. I'm tired of the game making shield bots and heal bots out of the entire support role. Is this the fucking best we can do for "fixing the support role"!? REALLY? I thought the point of picking a magic wielding woman that wears thin linens ISN'T GETTING TANKY, but rather USING STRONG MAGIC? Even if I'm a watered down version of that thought, shouldn't my line of thinking be to strengthen MY MAGIC? ALL of my magic, not just the heal or the shield? Or are we just going to go down this path forever where every new change to support items is a new tank item with a shield on it? You'd think a good place to start would be to have more than 4 support items with any amount of ap on them, but nope, because "if it's even halfway passable as an item, we're gonna see it mid". Ardent Censor isn't used mid, guys. Just think of a better designed item so it won't go mid, but holy hell stop filling support with tank items.

Now we get to a point where we're releasing a support with a fucking shit ton of ap scalings on his shields and heals. Literally why do that? Literally why? Shit is ass-backwards. Fix this role's itemization, Riot...before 2020.
