Bard's ult too slow to land to be used as a reactionary spell

title.

Ever tried to use bards ult in response to a kat ult, a jinx ult, or pretty much any other telegraphed, high impact spell? And by response i don't mean anticipating the enemy, but actually casting ult after the fact to minimize the effect?

It's downright impossible because it's too damn slow.

It takes roughly 1- 1.5 seconds to land (can't tell for sure, wiki doesn't say) , and i don't know if it depends on cast distance or not (probably not since the wiki makes no mention of missile speed). And that's not even taking into account reaction time, which can add anything from 0.25 to a full second depending on how chaotic the fight is.

It really is very inadequate as a reactionary spell against anything other than sub-par DPS such as turrets.

Fringe cases aside, It really feels like the friendly fire portion is more of a liability than a feature.

It should increase in travel time the farther it goes and should be nearly instant if cast on self. Hope riot does something about it.

It's more a 0.75 sec i think, but you're still right : /

Yup, it's too slow to be used as a clutch spell. Using it to nearby areas should be almost instant in my opinion and using it to a far distance should have some travel time.
