Base stats don't really matter, because Naut is designed to be a tank, whereas Nid isn't. That 33 health and 0.7 armour aren't going to make a difference when you realize a full-build Naut will have 4-5k hp plus resistances, where Nid is still sitting at 2-2.5.
So Naut is still tankier than Nid.

is this guy serious or does he actually think that the ~1 armor makes a noticeable difference?
So like I get that Naut has defensive abilities and all, but there's no reason a mage should be tankier than a tank, much less a RANGED one who's whole goal is to avoid a direct fight.
It is the same as Cho'Gath having a higher base AD than Draven. You have to take abilities and build path into consideration as well, as there is no way cho'gath actually does more damage than Draven.
Meanwhile Sion is considered an extremely tanky tank and has less base HP at lvl 18 than Sona huehue
I'm not defending Nid for being obnoxiously game warping and making playing against her a mini game of how long can you dodge spears. BUT i think naut stats are like that because his W. Also his build path is tanky, so his stats being slightly lower than a range caster makes sense because range casters cant really go out of their way to be a little resilient.

Also, these are late game stats, where, the differences are insignificant. Nid will likely only have one or two, if any, defensive items, while Naut still has his shield and his tanky items. Not matter how she builds, Nautilus will likely be much tankier.

what makes champions tanky isn't really to much there bse stats but there kits and what they build. Nautilus has a shield and that with his cc gives him a reason to be on the front line of your team.

It's the second highest damaging non ult. Fiddle drain is #1 (full channel).
33 hp difference is about as much damage as a single auto attack from a mage would do late game to any tank.
