Finding a new (backup) main?

I just hit gold playing mainly heimer mid/top, and am looking to expand my champion pool. I have played different stuff with mixed results and was looking for advice on what to try next.

Vlad and swain have been kinda meh for me as I am not enjoying their lane phase as much and their drain tank damage team fight doesn't make up for it to me. My favorite champs while I climbed were heim mid/top (bully lane, good objective control, good push), nunu jungle (bully jungle, objective control, blood boil for push), Annie (bully lane, strong team fight/initiation). I just started playing a few ori and Darius games and love Darius (bully lane, flash pull a squishy and you can burst them mid game and win fights easy), and ori (my laning is weak with her still, but her utility in mid game team fights is ridiculous and so fun).

What it looks like I should be trying to find is a lane bully (or has good wave clear bc that is what I love with Darius, ori, heim bc with a couple items they instant clear waves), who has either utility for the team, or is otherwise fun in team fights.

Stuff that goes mid and top is a bonus, but either lane is fine. Things I'm considering are:

Fizz Ziggs Maokai Lux Anivia Mundo Garen Gnar Rengar Mordekaiser Renekton Velkoz Shen (I have him from tpa bundle and he seems fun, plus is a viable but really different support) Irelia (not sure she fits the way I like to play but she is a strong top laner, and I was considering increasing my top lane pool specifically to focus top over mid for a 5s team I may play with)
