What's more fun to you? Playing lots of champs, or just one?

Lapis·10/3/2019, 12:00:17 PM·10 votes·11,132 views

I can't decide! I have a favourite champ I like to play a lot, but then it gets to the point where I feel like i'm not playing with a point, and I start playing champions I don't already have mastery 7 on. I know playing should be its own reward, but I tend to be a be of a completionist in games

I like to diversify my champ pool on all roles. Here's my list of champs for each role:

ADC = Ashe MissFortune Kaisa Xayah Sivir

Top = Camille Fiora Irelia Illaoi

Mid = Katarina Leblanc Lissandra Ahri Syndra Morgana

Supp = Morgana Nami Sona Zyra

Jungle = Evelynn Vi Shyvana

Its always a refreshing experience to hop from one champ to the other on each role. Keeps the game interesting and alive for me atleast.

EDIT:** People seem to be triggered by my champion selection due to them being females, LOL. Chill, its just MY preference in play style. I don't see why does it matter if I play male champions or not ( of course I do, just none of them suits my style competitively )**

I dislike League of Legends, outside of Zilean Zilean and Yuumi Yuumi... Maybe Pyke Pyke also? But he is too OP, I dislike to play him.

Honestly, they both get Picked or Banned, and Im like "Eehhmmm...".

I tend to binge champs a lot, but can never stay on one

Hemulen Magi10/3/2019, 3:09:55 PM4 votes

For me, lots. I used to "main" champions for a couple seasons at a time, but after my mains were each reworked, I stopped getting attached to a specific champion and have broadened to play a large pool. It was kind of painful losing mains to reworks, but I have found variety keeps things fresh as a veteran player so I don't mind anymore.

I have 11 champs at M7 and 546 total mastery score........ so I like a lot of champs, mainly supports

Potats10/3/2019, 5:39:43 PM3 votes

Lots of champs!!! I have made a champ pool and have 4 champs for each role:

Top: Irelia Akali Kayle Camille Jungle: Evelynn Nunu Vi Kayn Mid: Lux Zoe Neeko Ahri ADC: MissFortune Jinx Kaisa Xayah Support: Nami Karma Morgana Rakan

Currently trying to get all of these to mastery lvl 7 (got 3/20)

Yes, I will main all of these, it's a wide pool but I will never be banned out and I can have a variety of champs to choose from to counter enemy champs.

Alevity Xiaku10/3/2019, 3:37:16 PM3 votes

I only play Lux

14daysuspensionk10/3/2019, 4:48:18 PM3 votes

Lots of champs that have super low pickrates.

I One-Trick in Ranked.

And I never play my Ranked main in Normals.

In Ranked, the "point to play with" is the win at the end. I don't need any other point, so I'm fine just playing my main. Reciprocally, if I do NOT play my main, I'm not doing my best to win.

And in Normals, the win isn't important, so I do need another point. Usually it's farming chests, or mastery token, or just trying to learn some new champ. That pushes me to play other champs.

MetalGear Jotaro10/3/2019, 6:19:08 PM2 votes

i came to LoL from Dota2 cause one-tricking felt easier and much more rewarding in LoL,than it was in Dota so i'll vote for one-tricking

yo bro play like 5 different champs and master them so you can have some variety but dont do A LOT of champs then you never really master a select few champs to there full potential so if i were u i'd add a third option to the poll saying a select few champs, also dont do one champ because then it gets repetitive and boring

Poop Jelly10/3/2019, 11:07:02 PM1 votes

I play a specific group of champions :v

i tend to play so many champs but then i have tried one tricking for a bit because it would be so good to say im the best of thie champ in this region or world ... I feel like thats the ultimate goal with oen tricking but i just lose the willpower ;-; amongst my friends im the guy who can do anything though XD not to perfection but to a good state :S Ive been told they dont know how im gonna play out which tbh i like cos even idk how i play out

so playing different champs and being al lottery player of whats gonna be my outcome feels good XD

It depends on what you play, if you play ranked, you're probably a one-trick pony for the efficient climbing, but if you are a "For Fun" player, multiple champions would be more fun for you.

Since I play ranked, I keep my pool small: Fizz Kassadin Azir Jax Zed

P0IS0N IVY10/4/2019, 4:24:42 AM1 votes

I want to be able to play the few champs I like instead of having them get beaten by the nerf bat repeatedly if they show up in another lane or in pro play.

BackdoorPrincess10/4/2019, 7:29:27 AM1 votes

I play aram mostly so I can play everyone, but when it comes to norms/ranked I pretty much only play Illaoi Darius Cassiopeia Udyr

Magearna10/4/2019, 8:06:13 AM1 votes

I'm in the middle tbh. "A Select Few" would be a better answer for me.

Morgana Morgana , Irelia Irelia , Neeko Neeko , Nam Nami i, Zoe Zoe , Leblanc Leblanc , Syndra Syndra , Akali Akali, Jinx Jinx , and Xayah Xayah are my squad (Fiora Fiora , Camille Camille , Kai'Sa Kaisa and Rakan Rakan get honorable Mentions :P) As you can see, I was very happy when IG won worlds cuz I got a skin for all of my favs LOL [sg-miss-fortune]

OneMustFall10/4/2019, 8:37:40 AM1 votes

I play one champ for a long period of time until I feel like I've mastered it and then I switch to another champion and try to master that one. I'm always looking for the next off-meta pick to make work.

Pandeonor10/4/2019, 8:46:38 AM1 votes

I like to play others in ARAM or vs bots or when my champ is banned and I can´t or dont want to dodge.

But obviously I stick to one champ in rift. If you would ask "why" it would be hard for me to answer.

Speeedy10/4/2019, 1:57:44 PM1 votes

give me Caitlyn since 86% of my games have been on her this season. I just like playing her as it feels natural for me since her play-style is exactly how I play almost every other game. Long range kite you out rain damage from a big distance away.

BrokenRayquaza10/4/2019, 6:16:22 PM1 votes

I prefer a large pool of champions, but I can play one for a while too.

Top: Aatrox Kled Kayle Jungle: Evelynn FiddlesticksNunu RekSai Mid: Zoe Neeko Qiyana Adc: Ashe Kaisa Support: Yuumi Janna Rakan and I used to main TahmKench but he kinda not good at all rn in the supp role so

Tailypo10/3/2019, 5:10:38 PM1 votes

It just depends on how much time you have to play. If you're limited to a couple games a day like most people, I'd try to master one. If you play all day long, you're definitely going to want to branch out a bit.

King Braum10/3/2019, 6:09:16 PM1 votes

Both can be fun, Personally I enjoy sticking to a role religiously and just bringing in any champion you can into it.

That's how I ended up playing Illoai support during the tank meta and Zed support when enchanters got nerfed.

PaladinNO10/3/2019, 6:42:11 PM1 votes

Supports, ADCs and mages mainly. In that order.

There used to be more, but then reworks happened. Used to enjoy bruisers way more than I do now.

Used to enjoy ARAM more to, but then summoner 32 happened. Damn thing should have stayed in Poro King, with the other old items still available instead. And no map-specific balancing.

Got about 3 champions I know on that "other map", with another 3 or so I can play as "backup"-champions there.

Curious Kat10/3/2019, 6:46:04 PM1 votes

I have a handful of champs i enjoy in every role except maybe Jungle.

Nothing makes Jungle fun. Nothing. Fuck that role.

nm101010/3/2019, 7:06:46 PM1 votes

I used to like to stick to one champion, but once I decided climbing wasn't fun anymore I started branching out. Up to season 6 I played Orianna almost exclusively, then when she was bugged I switched to Zed, after he became pick/ban I switched to Morgana. The following season was when I started playing more champions. Including Ahri Leblanc Malzahar Talon Ziggs Gangplank Kassadin Taliyah. Last season I barely played, but I really enjoyed Viktor Swain Syndra.

This season I have barely played again, but have had a lot of fun with off meta on a lower mmr account (can't call it a smurf anymore if the actual rating is higher than my main lol). There I have played Jhin Nidalee Quinn Rakan mid. Side note, Rakan mid is actually disgusting if you can make it to protobelt.

pikawom10/3/2019, 8:54:20 PM1 votes

I like playing a verity of different champions because if I play one champion to much I end up just getting bored

Th3 Rift Hero10/3/2019, 9:05:05 PM1 votes

i like playing tons of champions but in fact i'm better playing one champion... and i want to climb! :(

Reaper Soraka10/3/2019, 9:08:52 PM1 votes

one-trick-ish.

I have about 10 champions that I play. I've bought brand new champions right on release and never played them (Yuumi and Pyke for example).

I guess I'm just picky.

Foxpower9310/3/2019, 9:12:51 PM1 votes

I personally like having several champions under my belt. It make you more versatile and when you are stuck filling you don't waste anyone (and your's) time by quitting if your ONE champion get ban. I think League is about trying different things and well in this case champions.

Always feel nice to fill a spot no one is good at and be able to pull your weight, but I think you should probably stick to a select few especially if you have irl stuff in the way. Can't be good at anything but I prefer a jack-of-all-trade to a one trick pony.

Violet Fields10/3/2019, 9:14:58 PM1 votes

I used to play a lot of Kennen , (have nearly 1 million points) , then you realize that once you get out of silver, it's basically the most useless thing you can play in top lane. Sure when team fights go around you pretty much auto win, but in the laning phase, you almost always lose. So I stopped playing him because it's like, if you don't cheese the ever living f out of your laner at level 1, you won't win the game unless the game goes well over 30 minutes.

VanCanBanMan10/3/2019, 9:38:39 PM1 votes

Personally, I like playing lots of different champs and different builds but I also like having that comfort champion that I can always play and feel like i'm having a good time tbh Zed

EbonyBladeJ8810/3/2019, 10:55:08 PM1 votes

I'm a Juggernaut lover and dyed-in-the-wool Toplane main.

In no particular order: Darius Garen Yorick DrMundo Mordekaiser Nasus and the occasional Urgot .

I was trying to pick up Aatrox at one point, but just wasn't able to get into it. No offense to Aatrox players intended.

In the occasional Jungle: Shyvana Trundle Udyr. Used to play Volibear there too, and may pick him up again come his VGU, but only time will tell on that one.

As you can see, I play (Or have at least played at one time) about 12 of the existing Juggernauts. So why don't I grab Illaoi and finish the whole set, right? It's probably because I don't play her, but I have this notion that her Rune viability is extremely limited. This may be due to the fact that nearly all the Illaoi's I've seen use Klepto. No offense to Illaoi players intended; if I'm wrong, feel free to correct me.

the point of playing this game to me is having fun. so u play what u have fun with. whether its 1 or 2 champs to 50. i only play a few as thats what i enjoy. but i havent played in awhile , thats another story.
