Why is everyone suddenly complaining about Ahri?

Just why? She's always done the same thing for god knows how long, so why complain now of all times?

She's picking up in popularity again. A pro player in the LCS recently got a penta with her, so there's that too.

"Hmm... Ahri seems OP... I better play her!" all the sheep said to themselves after witnessing the penta.

We were kinda hoping she would remain forgotten. She's not particularly fun to play against.

She's been the strongest mid laner for so many patches now.

Strongest? No. Azir was easily the strongest mid laner until he was nerfed. And he's still pretty strong. And in the meantime, Viktor, Orianna, Lux, Kog'maw, and Twisted Fate are all doing fine mid too.

No she's always been at the head of the pack or in top 3, even before Azir nerfs. Azir was up there too though, but he was just nerfed so he's not anymore. Viktor and Twisted Fate are also some of the strongest mid lane picks that I see a lot too, but they haven't been around in that category for as long as Ahri has been. I don't see many people talking about them either lately.

I don't think people talk about Viktor often period.

And what are you basing this on exactly? Because she barely sees play professionally.

Solo queue. Nothing about her is new.

People are starting to notice Ahri because of what Rivini just mentioned, but she's been at the top of so many lists and seen playing strongly in solo queue for a while now. I think that's a stupid reason to start complaining about her, but I can't say I don't see her as problematic. Seeing professional play should not be the reason someone gets nerfed in my opinion.

Viktor has been far and away the strongest mid for months upon months upon months

people just bitched about azir for no real reason, even with his sub 40% win rate in the lcs and viktor being pick ban in korea for months

Ahri is far from flavor of the month guys, so I don't know why people are acting like she is. She's been strong for quite some time now. There are a few champions that are allowed to stay that strong through so many patches, but she's not alone. There are probably several reasons why we haven't seen as many QQ threads. This board mostly likes talking about Riven and Vayne, there have been so many jungler item changes effecting many champions in ways most people do not like, and there have been two new champion releases this summer along with popular reworks in the mix.

The reason why she is so popular mid is because of how overloaded her Q is.

Before Ahri relied heavily on her charm to make plays but now it's more focused on her Q and how many times she can spam it for the damage, sustain, and movement speed boost.
