Is Cassiopeia a high skillcap champ?

I remember back in the pre-rework days when she was considered one of the most difficult champs in the game. Now it almost looks like she's become a noob champ, a "smash E to win" abomination. Was her difficulty overestimated in the past? Or has it diminished after the rework? If so, how come?

I've been playing her since the days of old (although I'm a silver/gold elo player, so I don't really understand things Trundle ) and I think her mechanics haven't changed a lot. Her dps was probably lower before, although you could also safely poke from a nice distance while dealing tons of damage with item 3151 . Now she relies more on the poison-E stuff, which I think was the "hardest" part of her kit, since you had (and have) to chain poison skills and E, mostly while chasing or kiting.

So what? Cassiopeia

Pre-rework. There was no free 25% CDR. This meant if you messed up, and hit the wrong person with E, you pretty much were useless for 4 seconds.

She had less fallback mechanics, meaning if she got behind, she was fucked.

She;s not mechanically any different, but she wasn't really that hard mechanically before. She was just extremely punishing.

Well, she has 25 % CDR because almost all her cooldown have been raised with the rework (she had 3 sec CD on Q). Plus she's still very item reliant and her passive bonus damage comes from... itemized damage. She doesn't get much out of nowhere. Then again, I've almost forgotten how it was to play her before (I played her occasionally, I've began to main her as soon as she was reworked), so I might be unfair in the comparison.

She's considered high skill because you have to manage to poison the target before you can start spamming her E. This is a delayed blast skillshot, so it takes some practice to know where to place it when you have an opponent smart enough to try to dodge. Add in the fact that her mana sustain requires that she get kills with her E and she's a champ that requires some careful play to get the most out of.

It's a lot harder than say Annie who has point and click abilities and never seems to got OOM like Cassiopeia can if you aren't getting the kills with her E.

That's hard to quantify.

Before, Cassiopeia was definitely one of the hardest champs in the game, if not for her kit being mechanically challenging, for being really clunky and unforgiving like others have said. Now that she's less clunky she's easier, but she's still vulnerable to getting bursted or picked off because she's immobile, and missing one skillshot could still spell death for you. But, once you have rylai's, she's honestly not so bad. The slow really eases up the pressure other champs have against you.

The big thing as Cassi I've found is always staying on your toes, which isn't really different from before. Keeping in mind the other champs is crucial because you will get camped because you've no escapes, and people will try to come up from behind or to the side of you to pick you off a LOT.

She's easier, but she still has some of the big weaknesses that make her difficult. But even the 'hardest' champ in LoL can be mastered in time.
