the problem with them its that, almost all of them are useless:)..you only need a few runes to run ..and they are the best for all the champions..besides the runes that are on permanent sale, you only need a few extra runes to cover almost all champs:).

I'm hoping they don't remove runes. I'd really miss my movement speed quintessences.
there are the most optimal runes, situational runes and useless runes..like 90% of them are useless..
why is it a bad thing, that you only really need a small number of runes? New players would be pretty pissed otherwise. I find them to be pretty fun to play around with from time to time.
Why remove them though? At least there's something to go off meta with. I love messing with runes, even if they don't make a huge difference. Spellvamp anivia is funny. Move speed quints are nice even though they're probably not optimal. Extra gold runes on aram are crazy with how fast you get gold.
If you only see a need for a handful of runes then you are getting the best out of your champion pool...
