Riot is BotRK fulfilling it's desired power position?

I rarely ever see anyone getting it even in this tank everything meta. Only champ that seems to consistently get it still is Vayne.

First off what is the intended purpose for BotRK to exist? My understanding is to counter health stacking but with base armor also begin 100% effective and the reduction to 6% from 8% it seems to not be that effective at this anymore.

Were the preseason nerfs actually justified and good or have they proven to be too over the top?

Would perhaps reducing the power of the active while improving the passive and perhaps 5 more base AD be a better target for BotRK?

bork was overpowered in season 5. the item was way too effective in almost every situation, even if you didnt actually fight health stacking opponents.

plus, you cant just look at the item in a vacuum.

with the introduction of item 3034 , together with the current bork and the bonus damage on other ad items, health shredding is probably even more effective than before the bork nerf.

its just not the item itself alone already counters evreryone with 3k health and upwards.

I thought it was supposed to be an anti-tank item for people who wanted AS and Life Steal. IMO since every ADC is getting Bork hurricane, it should be picked up more often, but no one is getting it. Part of me says the active should be removed and give it 40 total AD or something like that.

every ADC is getting bork?

Are you sure you are saying the right item?

Sorry, I meant to say every ADC is getting Hurricane, which would apply the passive.

One of the problems that I find with Blade of the Ruined King is that the longer you fight, THE LESS EFFECTIVE the % current HP becomes...If we could bring down the % current HP on the passive and bring it to total % HP, I think that that might help

The 6% current health damage from item 3153 doesn't really compare to the 15% damage steroid + arm.pen. from item 3036 . People build BT or even Death's Dance for the survivability without actually sacrificing any tank-busting capability.

It needs something else to make it more important. One of the main reasons it's not in use is because Guinsoo's has replaced it in many builds and almost no ADCs care enough about their attack speed to bother building it. We can make it missing health damage instead. Or put Giant Slayer into the recipe and make Mortal Reminder more prevalent so we can have the end-all answer to champions like Mundo and Ekko?

You have to be careful with Blade of the Ruined King. That item was ludicrous in season 5 and was responsible for a ton of balance issues (it's the sole reason BOTRK + full tank people did carry level damage and BOTRK was almost as game-warping with Devourer in S5 as Rageblade is now) - the nerf was absolutely needed.

The problem with the item is that it's poorly made to counter tanks because it has about five different things going on for it outside of the %HP damage. That means it's pretty much just a "do lots of damage to everyone on-hit" item. This season it's a bit weak so it's not being picked, because it has no real niche. Last season it was overtuned so it was picked on a ton of different types of champion because it was good enough at doing... everything you could ask it to do.

Buffing it is a bad idea. They should really consider reworking it even if it's just as simple as switching it from %HP to %bonus HP.
