So what tanks are meta and why?

so played a game wondering how good he is in other places as last time I asked I was greeted with "cause everyone are meta sheep,and pick " "cause he get's kited" (kina invalid as his Q takes movement speed like ,very nice for going inspiration and saving 950 gold for tank items then having more MS then whoever you are diving,even more so with boots. "cause he is countered by " which applies to,you know. almost every tank in existence. so why are the current meta tanks so good? as all the things I listed applies to just about all of them

malphite will always be kinda good. very good engage, attack speed + MS slows and he's a ton of armor and decent damage for a tank; even better, he's harder to poke thanks to his free shield

play what you like.

in any case, there's definitely a lean towards tanks that can quickly lock down enemies at the moment (the "meta" is pretty ganky)

Malphite is on a good spot right now because there are a lot of squishies he can pop and a lot of AD for his armor stacking.

I would run inspiration as a secondary at best though. After shock is crazy good for him vs squishy while grasp makes him not suck vs tanks.

Good tanks right now either have high damage like rammus or maokai

Any tank with %damage reduction and/or bonus armor/mr scaling. Also Maokai because of his bruiser/mage tier damage, massive sustain, and faceroll Twisted Advance.
