I learned how to actually play support to a reasonable degree and since so many enemy supports end up being an entitled "mid/ADC/Jungle or feel" troll I get an unfair advantage.
Autofill is awesome and is a good thing... Well assuming you are not a stuck up one role pony.

Manevră1 votesi can play all roles but autofill just makes you go play a random role that you are not in the mood for,or you have't mastered it yet,or you just don't have a good champion for that just remove the autofill,its too toxic one 12 yo kid one trick pony b5 yasuo would get autofiled suport and then just go troll his match because all he can play is yasuo.Longer queue waits? who cares anyway we wait like 3 minutes to get a match and 5 more minutes to do bans 5 more minutes to wait for loading screen.At least let us play what we want even if we wait 10 min to get a match with mid/top at least we dont ecounter trolls that much and we can play what we can

It starts at 3 then becomes 5 then 10 until eventually everyone is waiting an hour+ for support players to get on. Support players won't just magically come out of their caves just because autofill goes away. Autofill sucks but riot doesn't seem interested in implementing rewards for playing support/needed roles so we're stuck with this.

To me it's quite simple. If you can't play most roles on the same level of play (aka a gold 5 mid playing a gold5- silver 1 top/jungle/ADC in terms of skill) you don't deserve that rank. Autofill haters think that only knowing one role is enough, to me that's bullshit and I will never agree with their opinion on this matter.
It doesn't even matter until you're somewhere in high plat or low diamond anyway. It's not like most low elo players know what they're doing.

It is a trade off many players are not willing to take. There is a rumor going around that you have to have some kind of mental disorder to like playing support. I would argue that someone has a mental disorder if they want something but are not willing to adapt to get it.

I'd like to get better at support but i'm terrible at the role (except for Thresh). What supports would you recommend for a noob? I'd like to play an enchanter of some kind.
Might try Janna, fairly easy to pick up but really not that good for starting a fight though unless you have Yasuo on your team since Jana has knockups. I would say sona but she has abusable weaknesses especially to all ins. You will have to figure out what works well for you though.

I don't even go as a support primary but I am ready for the times when I am put in support and don't dread them in the slightest.
Funny how developing support as my secondary back in season 3 in order to be as much of an asset to my team due to a common lack of support players has payed off outside of season 6. Season 6 completely screwed over support secondary players.
Drago Zankaru1 votesWhen I played league I could play support I did so very much when i wasn't jungling in season 2-3(aka blaming the jungler its always his fault seasons) I went towards jungle and top more because my main was pushed top. I could still support if I wanted although my favorite support is basically trash...seems to be a trend with champions i like and them getting reworked or gutted lol
Its not about people not being willing to support because there is actually alot of them that would support like 60% of the time but i know that there are ex-support mains that don't queue for it because they dont want to support 100% of the time just like if you are a jungle/top main you probly don't only want to play one role for 50 or more games a week.

Lulu can pretty much counter most divers/assassins and works well with pretty much every ADC/Auto attack champions cause she gives free attack speed and move speed with her W.
Karma is really strong as well since she can instantly apply Ardent Censer to her entire team with an RE combo.
The only thing is that both sorta have over loaded kits. With Karma you have to know whether to RW someone to use that self heal to sorta out tank them or the RE to shield the damage away. And with Lulu, since you can use her W and E on enemies or allies, you can sometimes miss shielding an ally because an enemy stood on top of them. You are better at this game though so this might not be such an issue for you to learn.

DemainaNyx1 votesI agree. It seems like if you play a support and actually keep whoever is doing well on your team alive, you tend to win more than you lose. Obviously there are some games you just can't keep people alive in (looking at you ADC who walked into a full build Viktor with 100 HP), but you can save most people.

Eventually game health is more important then rank
Because without the game there truly is no point to that rank you earned slaving away as support
