Because Twin Shadows active had always been sleeper OP and since it got rolled into a generic support item, now that item became OP as everyone now openly realizes how powerful that active was to being with.

I'd rather have the original Twin Shadows back and FQC given some other active.

Id rather have Shard of true ice return as a non-locked gold item. i miss kages lucky pick and mana manipulator.

It's because the item itself is pretty damn good. If you compare it to morello, you lose 30 AP, 10% CDR and the grievous wounds passive. What you gain is 50% mana reg, 2 gold genereation passive, an extra-damage passive, and, probably the most important thing, an incredibly useful active, that slows an enemy for 4 seconds, and scouts an area for you searching for enemies that you can't see, unless they are stealthed before you use the ability. By the way, if you are against talon or someone with a stealth, if you use the acttive before they get stealthed they will be revealed, so it also counter those kind of champs. Losing the grievous wounds passive isn't a big deal in most cases, and about those 30 AP... they are good, but you get bonus damage fro FQC's passive, so overall you don't lose too much there. It also costs 300 less gold, and with those 2 gold generation passives, the item is reaaally cheap and ends up paying for itself on the long run, while also being immediately good. I think the main loss here is the 10% CDR... Other than that, the item is very good. If it becomes too common, though, i think riot will change it, since they don't like it when role-specific items get used from others. If i were them, i would try to change the tribute passive so that it get disabled if you kill a minion, just like item 3098 and item 3303 . That way the item becomes a lot less attractive for mid laners, since they would lose most of the gold that comes from the item and the extra damage as well. The active is still great, but maybe that would be enough to prevent midlaners from taking it. If not, than they should change the active, or nerf some other stats. They will probably nerf it so that it becomes totally useless for everyone, though.
