6 days until star wars

I know like 3 people who haven't seen any star wars movies. Everytime I see them I think to myself, wtf is wrong with you

I wouldn't get so hyped as even if the movie doesnt live up to the hype you will probably still find it enjoyable. Similair to Age of Ultron, I new the movie was set to be released but came in watching it with only the knowledge that it was an Avengers sequel and I enjoyed it while others said it wasnt very good.

I have cautious optimism. In other words I am hoping it's a great movie, but realize Disney owns it and have purchased a replica lightsaber so I can join the surprise wake up party/curbstomping in the directors bedroom if the movie sucks.

What's so amazing about star wars? I watched all of the 6? movies and they were mediocre for me at best while being realllyyyyyyy long.

From everything I've seen and read so far, it seems like it's just going to be a rehash of the original trilogy--much like Jurassic World was a rehash of Jurassic Park. This wouldn't surprise me, given the creative bankruptcy of the major film studios today. So honestly, I'm not that hyped (plus the marketing is overkill) and I'm a big Star Wars fan too, including the prequel trilogy and the shows. There are a few other potential issues, but this is the most basic summary of my feelings on the matter.

I really hope I'm proven wrong. And if I'm proven right, it's easy enough to excise it from my head-canon (much like I did with the bad parts of the Extended Universe before the Great Disney Purge).

3 days left here in France. My body is ready.

And I'm sitting here thinking to myself: you've hyped the living shit out of this movie just like with Fallout 4, and you're all going to be dissapointed, when you're getting what you asked.

It's not the second coming of Christ, it will be a great movie, just don't expect it to solve the meaning of your existance.
