Soraka's E Unviable

The meta may change but one thing remains the same in about every League game. Hyper mobility is now a thing and certain supports like Soraka, Sona and Nami are feeling the pressure of this cancerous design. Soraka's "E" - Equinox is an AOE Silence and snares after a few seconds. In theory this is pretty balanced and good design offering a level of counter-play however in practice, nobody will EVER get caught in its snare and will usually dash/blink/charge etc straight past it and onto Soraka. This is here ONLY bit of CC apart from the pathetic slow on Starcall which is stupidly hard to land. Other then that, Soraka offers nothing that Thresh Braum Leona adds to the game ((All of which have ridiculously easy CC to land, it might as well be point and click cough Leona *cough)).

So why can't Soraka's E instantly snare when she puts it out? It has limited range already and is the only form of CC that Soraka has and it isn't reliable enough to keep back dash heavy mobility champs ((E.G. Ahri Ekko Riven )) etc. Can we have a bit less biased in support design. I mean Riot, do you want only 3-4 supports to be viable in this game and the rest are there just for show? Morgana Lux already have reliable CC so why not Soraka ?

Way I see it, Sorakas heal is extremely strong in the right hands, it has a very low cooldown and in a fight its not that dfficult to land starcall on both enemy champs, combined with a health potion or two you can for a hella large amount.

Also, her E works pretty well as area denial imo and can seriously mess up some mages comboes, throw it right as Kat jumps in and she sits there looking stupid, works for alot of other mages also, Ahri, Leblanc, Zed and Yasuo ( less so for Yasuo, and there assassins but fairly common ) and honestly any mage who needs to combo and follow their abilities up in quick succession.

I think her E is pretty hard to land, but it can make for some good area denial and it hurts most mages very hard.

Also, her E's range is very large imo, calling it limited is crazy the way I see it, it also has the perk of doing instant damage, i think it can counter heavy mobility champs fairly well, throw it infront of riven mid combo and half the time they'll just stand there with slow auto attacks for a second or two looking like an idiot.

Frim what Ive seen, Riot really wants to limit the heal champions ingame, Taric, Nami, and Soraka from the top of my head, and its because there very strong when played right, I rarely build much if any AP on Soraka and i can still turn a horrible fight on our part into a positive trade.

Differences between a Leona & Soraka

One has tons of CC, while the other one heals people like crazy as if she's on steroids.

One has pretty much nothing to do, except a 1 second stun & free Armor/MR boost, when gets dived on by AD/AP casters, while the other just throws down her E and makes that enemy helpless.

My point? Stop comparing tank supports with squishy utilitized supports

One has to sacrifice her HEALTH in order to be able to "heal as if she is on steroids". It doesn't "make the enemy helpless", people just walk out of it easily. Leona has been too strong for a LONG TIME that is why she is one of the top meta supports.

Because Soraka has shit loads of heals. "oh but soracha haz 2 pay health 4 heal unbalanced!11" Q heals a shit load of her health.

I admit the E is hard to land, but what you're saying here is "oh i just silenced somebody but anyone with dashes can ignore the silence becuz well they aren't silenced right?" DERP.

By the way, me and my friend play a lot of Soraka, and trust me, she is viable in the right hands. Don't be a douche and change our favorite support.

The only change Soraka needs are bug fixes on her E. When someone is knocked up under her E they can sometimes use their abilities; I've even seen it being used on Pantheon's ult drop-point and yet he still used his abilities.

Other than that, she's in a pretty good spot and doesn't need any buffs.
