Bored of Yasuo?

I am so bored of this champion Yasuo , practically EVERY game I've played recently he has been spammed in mid-lane. He just isn't fun to play against with his free shield, free Janna tornado skillshot, free dashes and the absolute ridiculous thing... NO RESOURCE! I think Riot got clever after designing Riven so they gave Yasuo a "pretend" resource called flow which regenerates faster then Zed regenerates energy.

My point is NOT (Read it people, NOT) that this champion is overpowered because I know he has pleanty of weaknesses but EVERY DAMN GAME I see him unless he gets banned. Where is the variety? League is supposed to be a game full of it but why does everyone pick the same thing!? It does not really matter because a match with Yasuo in will go either one of two ways.

  1. Mid Feeds or Yasuo uses his high base movement speed and free dashes to go down bot and kill the ADC and then becomes this unstoppable monster who takes anyone's health down to half with his double crit passive and how annoyingly luck based and non-skill item 3087 is.

  2. He gets totally crushed and is useless for the entire game.

I just do not see why people want to play him so much. Why can't people pick more useful champions that have options IF they lose lane and can HELP their fellow teammates? Surely a much better TEAM pick, is better then trying to SHOW OFF on Yasuo. Because that is essentially WHY people pick him. They want to show off... "Look at me, I can carry... I don't need the rest of you". It really makes me laugh when Riot says League is a "team game" and then release powerful solo champs like Yasuo.

Also... What is the deal with his sword Q? Why is his sword so long? He's not bloody Sephiroth, he doesn't need a 20 inch sword unless he's overcompensating for something. I laugh when people tell me he's melee because he has a free ranged skillshot and his Q range is actually pretty big for a "sword strike".

I actually believe that he's actually bad for this game. He actually sends out completely the wrong message in that teamwork and cooperation are key to win this game and although he has weaknesses, he is just designed in completely the wrong way.

He's the Draven of mid lane, snowballs like a maniac and is honestly not as easy to play as he looks. And just like Draven this snowball potential is where his problem lies. I think removing some of his snowbally-ness for more reliability would make him actually fun to play against instead of "he got a kill, ff20" or "he's behind, 4v5."

I just feel like champs like Yasuo , Riven and Vayne , appear in about 95% of my games, although I'm fine going against riven or vayne as I can play most of the things i like playing and still have a good chance winning, playing and picking a champ against yasuo is very frustrating for me , i usually like to play lategame/midgame strong laners like Vladimir ,Kassadin , Azir andVelkoz those champs rely on having a good farming early game by keeping their opponents on bay by poking them , yasuo absolutely destroys their life, for example a weak early mage like Xerath that is falsely considered a counter to yasuo, is forced down to 2 choices

  1. Try to poke yasuo out of lane, he firstly needs to get dangerously close to yasuo in order to auto attack and break his shield only to end up trying to hit a high mobility champion with a delayed spell, something that eventually whittle down his manapool and force him to lose cs each time yasuo shoves a wave on tower .

  2. Try to cs by using abilities so he can counter yasuo outrageous manaless waveclear , that might work early but in the long run he will run out of mana as his passive mana restore is just to little early.

to recap , I'm not saying that yasuo is op by any means and i know the reason why people play him is mostly because he is fun, not because he is considered op, i just think its very obnoxious for a large group of champs to go against him, therefore with yasuo being so overused he forces that group of champs to see less usage, hindering overall champion pick diversity and so harming game diversity it self.

sorry for my English I'm european

Stop using the word free to describe anything in a champion's kit. Power budgets are a thing.

Recently, I have picked up Yasuo and played him a bit more recently. I do enjoy playing him, and not for any reason like no resource, or to carry. He just is very enjoyable to play. Now, I do understand your frustrations. But I don't think he sends that poor of a message, I think the player base may just perceive the message poorly. Or maybe I just take messages differently. I don't stick with champs due to "OP", I stick with them because I enjoy them, because they're interesting. I played 2 Yasuo games today. The first game, I destroyed, and I mean really DESTROYED the enemy. I had a lot of fun playing the champ. Now, the other game... I faced a Morgana. Who was VERY hard for me to fight. I got beat down, ganked, and beat some more. I did manage to come back later in the game with smart decisions, and most of all, HAVING FUN ON MY CHAMPION. I never straight up deleeted someone, and I did die quite a bit. But I enjoyed him. Unfortunately, the average player base just doesn't perceive messages well and just do things for the 'OP' or for the shows.

Now, on to your points.

  1. His kit. Yes, the resourcelessness probably is very frustrating. May I ask your opinion on what to give him? Energy usually has something tied to it that you have to do to regen it in chunks. Mana would really change his build and give him a dynamic row of options. His kit just seems to have quite a bit and you'd need a lot of flat mana as oppose to regen.
  2. It's not really a resource, all it does is ready a shield, which to help in his lane because he is due to get bullied for being melee. Zed and Talon don't have shields, but they can retaliate pretty well due to Talon's instant gap-closing E, or Zed just returning harass.
  3. This game is meant to be diverse, have you not seen the juggernaut updates? or that they are planning similar changes to the marksman? Riot is adding a lot of different things to this game, but the one thing they can't directly control, is what the players do with it. Yasuo is just popular, whether it be the "OP", the shows, or just someone enjoying him, it's just the player's choice.
  4. Why are you bringing an item to win a view/argument of a champion? Shiv isn't luck based, it has a clear count marker, and the only RNG is based of IF you crit originally. Also, low skill? There are a lot of items that are low skilled.
  5. Yasuo is powerful in both Solo Q AND group play. He is good for solo Q due to how many wombos he can do and his strengths. He's VERY good for team play due to how he can coordinate with them and come back from behind better.

1st off free tornado when he has to proc his Q twice to even get the charge let alone landing it He can only Dash too 1 target in X amount of given time. His flow is now free he has to generate it by moving and no it does not come back faster then energy regen unless you landed your ulti. Stop crying learn to play malz or annie.

I just hate how hard he can carry, I played a game on NA when I first transferred my account over there and got absolutely crushed botlane, everyone apart from my friend had 3 deaths and no kills. Luckily, he managed to pick up a double kill early, got a shiv then nobody could stop him, anyone who tried died and he ended up snowballing so hard he singlehandedly won the game. Not many other champions can do this, not many champions have that much power and cc to take on a whole team, they try to say that his ult requires teamwork but it really doesn't, most Yasuos won't ult even if you got a 5 man knockup with Malph ult.

With all the changes over the past few years to make snowballing less effective and to make 5 players more effective than 1 fed player, it's confusing how they release these champions with AoE stuns and craptons of damage while remaining safe.

He's really fucking fun to play and isn't hella weak.

IMO that's why he's picked so often.

I don't think Yasuo is OP He's not the most annoying champion around(while being very annoying). He's not the most binary champion either(similar to other snowball champion that aren't fizz).

I'm just tired of seeing him in EVERY F******************** GAME.

To be honest I don't get bored of having Yasuo in a game since 9/10 times it's a free lane for me. Though II play Heimerdinger and he shits on Yasuo.

He gets totally crushed and is useless. That's low elo for you, I never seen a game in bronze were every one played safe in lane and don't give first blood til level 6 or some thing. The score is always so god damn high, people don't really learn from there mistakes and they just repeat it. He is some what bad, his windwall is the ability that probably needs the most rework, but every thing else is fine from him. But I do hate how that he gets picked every game. I under stand rank since he is good on it, but on normals people spamming him over and over is getting annoying. He is some what unfair to play against, like almost every assassin in the game but you can still beat him. Til then you should actually try him and abuse his power to get out of the rank you are.

Only Play Darius10/2/2015, 4:12:55 AM2 votes

Like you said, he's useless when behind and does nothing for the team (despite being originally designed to actually be useful even if behind).

So teamfight carefully or wait for your botlane to come mid and start camping him because he has no ranged waveclear. GG

like you said he tends to feed horribly so idk why you are tired of playing against him, free wins are always welcome.

He is extremely fun to play i must say, as a yasuo main. And I do think he is mechanically challenging (using his E properly, surviving ganks, being useful in an explosive teamfight), i think these are the reasons why people play him.

I like playing Yasuo, but I also love to go against him so idk.
