I am so tired in this game that tank items are about 5 times weaker then offensive items. This game has slowly becoming a "beat-em-up" style no brainer game with champions like Yasuo who has a clearly overloaded and toxic design. Yes, he's been nerfed a lot but his kit is inherently broken, like most of the other new champs and does way too much. I wish Riot could understand that champs like this are just boring because you see them every single game (with other overloaded powerhouses like LeeSin Nidalee etc).

Damage outscales defense due to the game's current designs of trade-offs.

Yeah, certain champions feel bullshit, but in general it makes sense. Burst mages and assassins target the squishies, but can't 100-0 tanks due to their primary offensive stats being damage and penetration. They can build other stats, and some champions are the exception, but generally they can't really burst tanks down. Their job is to kill the ADC, who has the sustained damage build that's somewhat weak earlier in the game compared to tank builds that scales up as they build a mixture of AD, crit, attack speed, and lifesteal to dominate the late-game.

If defense outscaled offensve, games would last longer and it might seem uninteresting. It's why people were afraid of the tank meta. On the other hand, I'm no fan of assassin metas either.

Defense does have its place, though. Most carries have at least one defensive item, or defense/offense hybrid items (like zhonyas).

the champs you offered are not high damage. any adc and most ap mid champs will poop all over their damage, if played right. and if you want a high damage brawler i would think of Gangplank

All defense items (except the hybrid ones that damage dealers frequently buy) enjoy a pitiful gold efficiency ever since god knows when, as well as having the champs who use them getting repeatedly bashed by the nerf bat again and again.

Sounds like fun.

Actually, it's not complicated to change. Make defense scale better together => no more 1-defensive-item wonder for carries protecting them from assassins. By either changing the resist formula (damage taken multiplier = 1/ (1 + resist/100) ) or give more power into passives such as Frozen Heart's, Randuins. Or create a defensive item with % bonus armor/magic resist.

Nerfing true damage and %health would also be nice (I'm mostly thinking of item 3153 , just give it slightly more AD and nerf the freaking %health, it's ridiculous)
