Why has Riot just lied to our faces about ranked?

"You get a barrier if you drop to 0 LP". I got promoted to gold 1, got a bad team then got demoted to gold 2. got more bad teams. hit 0 LP again, next match got demoted to gold 3. Oh yeah, So how in the world is this system balanced???? I'm trying to climb the ladder and I get punished because 4 people on my team have no idea how to play league. I do whatever i can, dragons, towers, farm, roams, and still everyone on my team every game, feeds. I don't understand how I'm supposed to climb to a higher division under these circumstances.

So with this logic if I were to go 100/0 and taken six towers with an inhib and 4 dragons with baron, because I had an afk and two people who don't understand how to orb walk and the other has a bedtime of 6:45 PM that the person is a part of the bad team? Now before you start acting like a complete Ashe and start running that pretty little mouth with that passive aggressive attitude you love so much could we possibly think that the OP just had an unlucky chain reaction of teams?

Also this is a rant post, and he didn't blame Riot. "Why has Riot just lied to our faces about ranked?" That is not what a blame looks like, he brought up a discussion about this being false, because . . . he just proved that it was false.

Oh and by the way "There must be a common denominator somewhere...." I laughed.

I have taken a break. it's just my teams either throw or the enemy team just gains a huge gold advantage after 1 baron.

You're 5-15 in your last 20 games If you're tilting, you should stop queuing before you end regret it. It's a lot easier to ruin your MMR than it is to climb back up.

There's a 3 game demotion protection after getting promoted. And since LP gains are higher than losses, for every win at 0LP, it takes 3 straight losses to get demoted.

It's my teams. Look at my score, look at everything I do in ranked. Yet I still lose. I'm not on tilt because I quit every time I get a loss in ranked. This is all from over a month

Whatever makes them realize that they probably shouldn't be playing is a good thing (if only for the sake of their teammates).

I mean, when I fell face first and got a concussion then proceeded to lose 17 ranked games in a row (pre-Season 4). I wish someone had at least tried to stop me. Nine months to climb, three days to fall, six weeks to recover.

sorry, old thread, but it's the first one that comes up in my particular search. SO I wanted to correct this.

This "LP gains are higher than losses" claim is completely wrong. For months now, I lose way more LP than I win.

At one point, I was getting 11LP for a win, but LOSING 20-25 for a loss.

InSane.

I get 25 - 30 Lp per win and only lose 10 - 15 for each loss. The amount of lp you get per win is dependent on your mmr. If you get 11 lp for wins, but lose 20 for each loss the game believes you are currently ranked higher than what you should be. In my case I get a lot more lp winning than losing, but I also about a third of the people in my ranked games are in plat while I am only gold 5. Most of the others are gold 3 and above.

Low MMR in comparison to your division will cause you to gain less LP as the system tries to push you down towards the correct division for your MMR. Anyone with even or high MMR will gain anywhere from positive to extremely high LP per game.

+10/-25 is a sign that you're at least a full league lower than your current division. Unfortunately, you're Bronze so you cannot get demoted beyond Bronze V.

Score doesn't mean anything half the time I can go 8-0 lane phase then end up 8-15 because the players on my team have no concept of how to play the game, or even go Equal Skill, but again no one else on the team knows how to play.

Would need an actual replay of the game to actually prove how good or bad a person is, but can say that the score-board itself means nothing, and I agree the ranked system is a joke too much toxicity, too much matched with players who have no idea what they are doing.

It's really hard to justify more than 3 deaths per game or a consistently sub-5 cs/minute average. For 90% people stuck in Bronze and low Silver just working on dying less and farming more will show a drastic improvement. There's a few exceptions, people who have really decent mechanics but a terrible game sense (i.e.: the fed guy who doesn't die but never seems to be where he's needed) but they are fairly uncommon at low Elo.

Welcome to elo hell. I'm currently stuck there with a shitty MMR as well despite going positive in 75% of my games. It's a cycle of neverending stupidity: I get matched with people who can't play, so Rito drops my MMR and matches me with people who are even worse.

i also have huge problems with ranked, I went 6-4 and got bronze 4 when last year i went 2-8 and got silver 4. My friend went 1-9 and got bronze 1. What is this riot?

Your death after your team took the inhibitor is what let the enemy team secure Baron and turn the game around. Considering how you aced them moments prior, you definitely overstayed your welcome.

Also, it was a triple kill.

The not dying thing? I usually die 0-3 Note; Z-E-R-O up to 3. I think I have the "dying less" thing down pretty durn well. Usually the only time I do worse than that, is when my team feeds hard, and then the enemy team ganks me as a group. So I may die 6-ish times, but most others on my team are dying 10-15 times. Ugh.

The hidden MMR for ranked games, is stupid. If you are winning in a league+tier, then you belong in that tier. IMO it should just be straight tournament style, with fixed win/loss rewards. None of this "you just won 6 games straight! but then you lost 3, so now you're back down to 0 LP" garbage.

If I win multiple games In. A. Row, in a tier i supposedly "dont belong" in.. doesnt it make sense that I DO actually belong there so my MMR should be adjusted to fit properly??
