Yeah that's what I do. If I'm getting punched in the noggin I'll sometimes go Randuin's before one of those instead but in most cases those two are always first.

get frozen mallet if your ahead and vs a juggernaut like Garen Darius Urgot , if your a head with item 3022 against immobile champions then you are essentially a god that the other laner can't even touch.

As a Gnar Gnar main I go for item 3153 first cause i like to make tanks suffer even more However here is what you rush for either of the two... item 3022

if I build mallet with randuins, would the slow stack?

I do not know if the slow was to stack, however randuins on Gnar is always good for him against AD comps. Especially when fighting AD top laners that can crit. Yasuo Tryndamere Quinn or anyone that has crit and is a problem, like ADCs and MasterYi . So your main AD tank items I would recommend are item 3143 item 3742 item 3075 and item 3047 being the best. May have been more then what you were asking for but I hope it helps.
