Everyone says that Camille is always banned because she's overpowered. But then..

Okay, so everyone always says Camille is always banned due to being OP. I don't think this is true. The fact that she is always banned is simply based off of one fact. The fact that when a new champion comes out, they are ALWAYS banned for the first two weeks. Remember when Taliyah came out and was in huge need of a buff? Still got banned every time even when people knew that she made no difference. Now this is not a post about balance. I don't have an opinion on whether Camille is op or not, but I do want to end all discussions stating she is always banned due to being OP. Give it like a week or two and she'll be banned a lot less than before.

Her ult is stupid. You press it on any carry and theyre dead no matter what. Even if she dies its worth.

Camille has Juggernaut-level base stats.

She has juggernaut-level in-fight sustaining/protection tools.

On top of having one of the longest gap closers in the game. On top of that gap closer stunning and being neigh impossible to miss unless you're really bad at aiming/max range.

She two auto resets. Most champions with even one can do some pretty absurd stuff at times. Almost automatically makes them a bully vs melee. The second one is doubled...and true damage...and converts other physical on-hits to true damage

Sheen hyper-synergizes with her kit to a problematic level, much like Irelia.

Her W has an 80% slow and scaling % HP damage. Because apparently Riot thought a 40% slow wouldn't be useful enough. And that she needed to be target agnostic.

These are all of the blatantly overloaded/overtuned issues of her kit.

All of these aspects of her have been shown to be major issues when tuned/loaded too high in many other kits.

She is effectively all of the terrors of both release Xin and release Irelia combined. Just power-creeped to hell and back like everything else that viably functions in the meta.

She is banned because she's OP. She started off banned frequently because she was new. When people started letting her through ban phase, they realized facing her is a nightmare if the person playing her is at all familiar with her kit and how to make use of it.

Nah, she's fairly overtuned. Her ability to constantly sheen proc because Q has multiple casts means her damage output is fairly high, and her E + ult make it REALLY easy to simply dive a squishy and duel them to shreds.

I'm not saying she shouldn't deal damage, but she does too much way too quickly for anyone to react amply.

This is kind of the argument based around all Yasuo posts.

Who the hell is arguing that Yasuo sheen procs a lot right now?

And the issue with E-ult isn't that they're just mobility, but CC as well. E is a stun that gives an AS steroid so you can cut their shit harder and her ulti is the ultimate "fuck you" button so far. I'd honestly love it if they just took a bit of the damage out of her Q and put it on her W. The fact that it's already two auto-attack resets, with one dealing true damage, is already good enough.

Camille is broken. She is banned because she is broken.

Her ban rate is really high because she is incredibly strong upon release. He passive allows for free trades and her ultimate keeps a player in one spot, meaning she can choose when to pick a fights and if you fall behind in the top lane she can repeatedly kill you.

Her mobility is also pretty high for a top laner and she has a pretty good initiate..

Most new releases have low win rates that climb after time. The bans are there, but people aren't winning with the new champion typically (Aurelion Sol is probably the only recent one that had a high win rate in really high elo). Camille has a pretty strong win rate after just a few games of play. She also already has a pretty structured build path.

Camille has some problems and her ban rate is a reflection of people thinking she is too strong. I have only played against her maybe 2x. The biggest issue I saw was her ability to quickly rotate to the mid lane and her passive is up too frequently.

That really doesn't prove anything. You said that most new champs get banned early on, which is true, but that doesn't mean Camille isn't being banned both because she is new and because she is too strong.
