Seeking advice for Riven vs Ranged

I have been playing Riven and liking her a lot. Most melee champs I can handle (though Sion is a handful) but when I am against ranged champs like Jayce I struggle for CS. I get poked a ton and backing off they can even poke me under tower. So I am seeking advice on how to handle them. I typically build Phage first and dontt take Doran's Blade but rather an item toward phage. I tried starting out more Tanky but that just reduces the DMG. I can try being hyper aggressive but that is dangerous. I am Bronze 3 so I am not a pro. So advice appropriate to my level is appreciated rather than somethign from a diamond that I don't have skill to execute or understand. Thanks in advance.

Riven tends to naturally struggle against ranged champs since she's melee. I'm no challenger Riven main, but from my experience, you can't really do much against ranged champs, especially Jayce, as Riven. Just stay back early, get what CS you can, and use your E to shield most of the damage y ou take. If they get to close, Q to close the distance, stun, weave in autos, and E out/into a bush. Eventually you should be able to all in them once you get your items, as most of the ranged top laners (Kennen, Quinn, Jayce) don't build too many tanky stats. I would also reccomend running TP and starting Doran's Shield in those matchups.

I don't play riven but this is basically what I do as camille, farm under tower until my jungler does something or I get an item spike to win the 1v1.

Might wanna rush ninja tabis as well, first back even.

Armor wont do much against magic and I am not a tank. I think I just have to be patient.

If its ranged AP like teemo then you can build item 3155 and if you survive long enough for it you can probably out duel him there.

Teemo actually does a good amount of physical damage in lane as well and his blind will counter rivens passive. I wouldn't try it.

Hexdrinker is better against pure AP users who have long cds after they burst.

item 3155 is stlil a good option against AP Teemo or Rumble, and Tabi is a must against auto heavy champs like Jayce or Kennen.

Learn to farm under your turret well. Riven naturally outscales ranged champions and you can usually look to get a kill at 6. You don't want to blow too many gap closers to get close to the target otherwise you lose a lot of damage. (If the distance is any more than QQ, then it shouldn't be worth to go in and trade / all in.)

It also depends on the champion, stuff like Teemo is really hard. Kayle you can fight at level 4, etc, etc.

On your mastery tree, take sorcery and precision. Those are much stronger for her spell cast based playstyle. Swap out Fresh blood for feast vs ranged. Consider: 9 Lethality Marks, 9 Armor seals, 9 MR blues, and 3 AD quints.
