How do you play the clown?

So I tried Shaco twice last night. First time I tried setting up boxes in the enemy jungle, but was scared off and then I messed up my boxes by putting one at gromp first. Let's just say I did poorly that game.

But the second game...OH MY GOD XD I was a monster. His boxes were almost always useful even when they didn't do what I hoped. His clone always seemed ready when I needed it. Every time I was near the enemy Veigar, I made him go pop!

POP!!!! XD

I don't normally play assassins, I'm more of a tank main. But I must ask, how do you play Shaco? How do you build him?

How do you spread CHAOS?

Looks like it'll be a fun Shaco build. Haven't been playing many Shaco games lately though so I haven't tried it.

Hydra + Shiv for split push / burst combo and Duskblade because the clone can proc it. So in theory you could put your clone one target and burst it simultaneously with another.

Another Fun core build is item 1400 item 3142 or item 3071 and item 3147 item 3153 then finish with item 3036 or item 3033 Single target shred :P

Then there is bruiser Shaco that can be funny on occasion (They expect the Shaco to be squishy..) item 1401 item 3748 item 3156 item 3053 with item 3111 or item 3047 and item 3026 or item 3083

Shaco's boxes are amazing you can place them ahead of time to cut off the enemy escape, ensure your escape, or even just to act as a ward.

His clones have a lot of mind game potential and can be used to dodge cc / skill shots.

Deceive allows for many abstract escape / gank routes and can even be used to come right down lane to surprise the enemy.

He's a simplistic champion kit wise with a incredible hard skill cap due to being based on purely abusing the opponent's psychological / reflexive responses. Good Shacos make a lot of people rage quit and are one of the most toxic things you can have on the map. Bad Shacos just can't use the mind games to their advantage and up failing. Basically Shaco is all about knowledge as a player and as a jungler if you don't have a lot of it you will fail as Shaco.

Being able to move the clone at it's max range before it teleports back to you and concurrently move Shaco himself is a mandatory skill. You also have to be able to make the clone look and act like the real Shaco and the real Shaco look and act like the clone sometimes. I've literally escaped the enemy team on occasions by running through them with the real Shaco and sending the clone off in a random direction and then using deceive.

This strange style and knowledge requirement is mainly why I don't play Shaco in ranked. He's a champion that is easy to screw up on. However, he makes up for his faults by being one of the funnest characters to play.

Thanks. I tried doing the clone control trick in a game and I just could not get it to work. It's entirely different from anything I've ever tried. I should probably practice that ability in a custom game.

item 1400 item 3074 item 3742 item 3156 item 3026 item 3158 Is my normal build. item 3930 item 3748 item 3124 Is an option if your forced to farm alot duing a game. I know the lucidity boots aren't the best but I find the cdr and 21 sec reduction on ignite really help some games.
