New Meta Theorycrafting / Discussion
I had an idea for a new meta, but I don't play jungle or top enough to really theorycraft it well, so I'm interested in what all you Jungle and Top mains think of this. The idea is basically to abuse the smite top meta to mitigate the weaknesses of certain champs in the jungle.
- Top and Jungle both take smite.
- Jg has strong early ganks/clears, and might be weak early in lane
- Top has a strong early laning phase and might have weak early ganks/clears.
- Once the top/jg [hit their power spikes / fall off], they do a "lane swap."
Here's an example: Xin Zhao starts Jungle, Vi starts top. Here's why it works:
- In lane, Xin has no pre-6 disengage, so he's vulnerable to ganks. Once he hits 6, he has a little more safety, but his ult doesn't add much to his ganks or clears.
- Vi's ult is good whether she's in lane or jungle, but it's much better in the jungle. Either way she has a much bigger power spike at 6.
Thoughts? Are there drawbacks to this plan I haven't thought of? What about champions who it would work well for? I don't play junglers or top laners enough to know their power spikes well in each of the roles, so I'm very interested in champs who you think this would work well on.
