Zed - Shifting W's bonus AD

The bonus AD on Zed's W, Living Shadow, are there to help his damage scale over the full 18 levels, and not have his damage peak at level 13 (when the two damaging abilities of his kit would be maxed).

However, the way this currently works gives Zed a little much damage on his auto-attacks, contributing to his unintended strength of tower-taking.

So, what if W's passive just gave bonus damage to Q, E and R? Like this:

Bonus damage on Q, E and R: 5/10/15/20/25% bonus AD

This would make E hit a little harder than on live, but I think this is a good way to limit Zed's unintended power while putting a little more focus on his abilities.

or we could just remove the free AD altogether because why the fk does he get a free AD multiplier when his passive is an execute that deals magic damage rather than physical?

It's because it gives a reason to level his W up. Similar to how Rek'sai gets AS on his ult because if not there'd be no point in leveling it up.

it reduces the cooldown by a second for every point you put into it as well as the energy cost by 5. thats good enough reason on it's own.

In addition, it makes it so that his damage scaling is stretched over three basic abilities, not two - making his damage progression smoother and less spiky.

If the W passive was removed, the bonus ratios would have to be incorporated into the skills from the get-go. Do you really want Zed to do more damage at the early levels??

the point of removing it would be to remove it, not compensate him by adding it into other places. its an unnecessary stat that he doesnt need. his ratios and bases are high enough without it.

maybe that would encourage zed players to build BT or IE instead of BotRK as well due to the loss in AD, which would make his tower pushing a lot less problematic and make his level 6 power with cutlass less ridiculous.

No they wouldn't. That's how nerfs work. They reduce the effectiveness of the champion to somewhere in the realm of other champions.
