How are flex Q placements affecting season 7 for solo Q if at all?

Should I do my placements for flexQ if I'm only going soloQ in season 7? Cuz I played one of them and plz no never again.

I bet Riot is releasing flex queue right now just so that the solo players can actually get some games in there since the solo players will never play flex queue lmao.

I might be wrong but from my understanding the reason we have placements now is to help balance the queue when it resets in December and the season starts. So if you get placed now, you have a chance of getting your mmr where it should be before the official placements kick off if that makes any sense. May as well go through mmr hell now rather than go through it later.
