Does Jayce need buffs or nah?

I play him a decent amount and never thought he was weak. I like his roaming potential and insane damage. But his current 2% pick rate and 46.5% win rate seem quite low. His win rate has never been good but his pick rate use to be a lot higher. I rarely see a Jayce outside when I play him. Personally I don't think Jayce needs any major buffs but given that other low pick/win rate champs are getting buffs I guess it's only fair. Two changes I thought about are reducing his melee Q mana cost so that you don't go oom after one combo early game. Also giving his melee W AD scaling.

Edit: Jayce got buffs and is now strong.

I just want to preface this by saying I'm a Jayce main, and even though I prefer to play support, I frequently go Jayce ADC, Top, Mid, and (although I'm reluctant to do it) I can jungle with him. He's my favorite champion! :D

He's never been that popular of a champion. I personally hope they don't buff him because knowing Riot, they'll most likely overdo it, then get him nerfed and leave him in the dumpster (Sejuani). From a standpoint of in-game strengths and weaknesses, he's still insanely strong and I'm confused as to why his win rate isn't higher. He counters a lot of meta picks and is just in a relatively strong state like he's always been. Maybe it's just because he isn't popular, so as a result his win rate is low.

Yeah that's just it. He seems pretty strong. The last change I remember him getting where some pretty solid buffs in s5. I agree with your fear about him getting buffed then becoming fotm though. I don't really want that to happen.

jayce is fine where he is, a unique champion with ranged and melee aspects and in my opinion is incredibly balanced where he is. he does a shit ton of dmg if played and built correctly and is so diverse there are like 4 or 5 build paths for him. not to mention the satisfaction of finishing someone off in the back line of a fight as they're running with that smooth q>e ranged combo (yes in that order, makes it harder to dodge/see coming)

He got them, now he's balanced if not a sleeper OP. I agree Q/E is harder to dodge than E/Q

Jayce is good where he is at.

My Jayce build is more of a Bruiser. I like to start with gated Q and follow the Q through the gate while switching to Hammer. Then Q them, get ahead of them, E them back, and W for the added damage before switching to cannon and blasting them with Q for the win.
