Why Are We Trashing Elise Instead of Devourer?

Champion.gg - League of Legends Stats by Champion Role for the Current Patch

Elise is the 10th highest winrate champion ATM. There are 2 junglers that have higher winrates than her due to a completely broken item. Heimerdinger has a 57% winrate mid and 56% winrate top (1/2% winrate off of sejuani when cinderhulk was first released.)

How about we fix these problems instead of giving her an even worse band-aid fix for an ability?

Edit: P.S. don't rush to say 'trashed' when you haven't even tried her out yet after changes. Say it after, so it actually makes sense.

My point is they should gut/rework devourer so OTHER junglers that synergize with it will be less strong before nerfing ONE champion. If they reworked devourer Yi, Kayle, Shyvana, Xin Zhao, and Warwick wouldn't sit on everyone. See how many bans that requires? Nerfing Elise will only take one.

Elise doesn't build devour. she builds runeglave or cinderhulk. And they over shot her last buffs so there trying to bring her back inline. If Elise was easy to balance she wouldn't have two settings, LCS first pick and unviable.

Same reason people trash Yi and Kayle instead of Devourer. The majority of players only focus on the small part of the game where the champ was strong and don't understand well enough that the strength they are seeing is a stacked item and not the champ.

So they come cry on the forums about how Kayle is OP and to appease the masses RIOT nerfs the champ rather than the item. I'm sure Elise is next.

I know elise will get thrown into the abyss again regardless, I'm asking them to do something about an item that makes several champions stronger than elise to be removed so I don't have to use all of my bans on junglers so I can ban Irelia and Vladimir again.

Thematically a poison dot makes more sense on Elise though.

Poison on Q fits much better with her kit.

Synergizes with Liandries 300% better due to DoT ticks.

More trustworthy in certain engagements.

I'm excited for it.

That's actually an example of synergy with an item rather than synergy with the rest of her kit.

I agree that poison is thematic. Unfortunately, I heard it changed her play style to poke mage... please tell me that isn't true.
