Can We Lower The Surrender Time Now That You Completely Fucked The Ability To Come Back From Games?

In a game right now, its 4-19 and they are sieging our base at 13 minutes. I feel like i should be able to ff by now.

Agree

My biggest concern with such idea is that it would encourage people to give up, as if they weren't encouraged enough already.

There are people who give up before the game even starts, during the champion select, just because of a off-meta pick or a poor team composition.

If Riot were to lower the surrender time, I would only agree with that if they also changed it so that you couldn't vote surrender again for 10 minutes instead of 5. This way, people could surrender earlier, but they would not be encouraged to give up as easily. This would also prevent people from constantly spamming surrender everytime it is avaliable.

The enemy laners who took advantage of your easily tilted sheeple team mates?

Seriously what happened to this game? I mean they even gave the towers 500 more HP and they still are pushed faster ever than they were before.

Spoofghoul13 votes

What happened is the ability to crit towers. To nuke towers with your op ap ratio's. Winion changes.

Towers need to scale now on mr and armor up to a measly 30. But they never get time to scale and 30 armor/mr isn't enough scaling anyway.

Redaga6 votes

the AP ratio is such as the game progress mages are not the useless ones to take down towers. as they dont build AD item. you still need 3 times the AD on AP to make more damage than what you will with AD

Photos of Ghosts2 votes

No, there's no ability to crit towers. What you're thinking of is just Cait's passive stacking - and still not proccing - on towers.

Spoofghoul1 votes

Dude go in a custom game build item 1051 and go test it for urself

you can crit towers

Photos of Ghosts3 votes

100% crit chance, no crit on towers. Sorry buddy, you might want to look up your sources.

Redaga24 votes

500 HP is nothing more than 10 seconds for mages, 3-5 seconds for close combat with attack speed

if they dont want towers to melt they should ad more Armor (just armor, not hit harder cause then tower diving will be impossible)

TF is an hybrid, like Ezreal, Kayle, Ekko, they build AD too, and/ or have spells that buff their AA, in TF case his E

I mean Stacked Deck

Every 4 attacks, Twisted Fate deals bonus damage. In addition, his Attack Speed is increased.

Passive: Every 4 attacks, Twisted Fate deals an additional 55/80/105/130/155 (+50% Ability Power) Magic Damage. In addition, his Attack Speed is increased by 10/15/20/25/30%.

Oh since pick a card does dmg to turrets, and stacked decks dmg doesn't touch turrets but the attack speed buff helps my bad for mistaking what you meant

Should be able to surrender when you want to. You need 4 votes anyway, it's not like you can ruin it for your team. But when our top and mid lane AFK's immediately, I want out.

You. Can. Come. Back. Holy shit im so done with people saying this and complaining about this. Is it easier to get stomped? Yes. Is it impossible to come back now? No.

Unholy Teemo , if you really want to comeback, your team has to put everything into it. Thats how the system works now, if your team isnt trying hard enough to stay in the game, you're gonna get curbstomped. It just feels like every game is a curbstomp because when do you see soloq trying that hard to stay in the game with all this "you fed first blood gg game is over" negativity? Comebacks are still completely possible. I've had multiple comeback games, stop acting as if its impossible now.

"JUST DO IT." -Shia Lebouf on comebacks.

Reduced FF would be fine considering that normal games do end faster now and even rito has stated the system makes it this way but holy shit dont ask for one thing and then bitch about the other. Its so infuriating to always read things like this on the boards.

Edit 1) Fixed "holy teemo"

first of all teemo isn't holy second of all you know whats the actual problem?nobody even has the mindset of positivity the idea of a comeback in there heads and yet they fucking dare put these posts i can tell you almost every game i had in 5.23 my team was bitc""ng pre 20 min everyone had the mind set of no hope and just gives up i tried to lift there spirits up but then they insult me calling me "you retard"(yep, someone called me retard for actually trying to keep playing rather then surrender.humanity amirite)guess what,we manage to extend the game to the 60 minute mark(ish) from what seemed to be a stomp and won in the end it really sucks that you barely fine people with a positive mindset instead of the people who complain about the snowball who don't even have the idea of a comeback in there mind

i don't remember how the quote goes nor do i remember who wrote it "Be the change you wish to see in the world" world being game in our situation

In a game right now...

So rather than fight back and still try to win, you just AFK and whine on the forums?

I agree that the current system is flawed and needs a lot of work, but maybe the reason your team is getting stomped so hard in this case is that you -and possibly your other teammates- aren't even trying.

Yes, it is undeniably harder to come back now, thanks to the new system, but people like you just make things worse. This game's always had AFKers and rage-quitters, but the defeatist attitude has gotten even more popular recently, and it ruins the game for those of us that want to play it. A game might be lost, but it's possible to learn while losing, then put what you learned to use in future games.

You can also always come back. While it's hard, I've won a lot of 4v5s in the past, even one 3v5. In the 3v5, one person DC'd early on. The game was close, but after getting caught out and dying, another teammate rage-quit because they were "tired of this ^^^^". Just after they quit, the enemy team made a risky play for Baron. My teammates and I went in, in what we thought would be a 'glorious death charge', and actually ended up getting an Ace. We were low, but death timers were high enough that we were able to push hard and win. The thing was, my remaining teammates and I still believed we had a chance. We didn't give up, and figured "What's the worst that could happen?" so we fought on. We played well, and were rewarded.

It is easier to get an advantage now, but in this game anything can happen, and you definitely don't gain anything by giving up and AFKing/trolling your team.

Shonjl3 votes

To be fair, being obnoxiously optimistic is almost as bad as giving up easily. Like by all means if someone says GG due to first blood that is something I facepalm about, but when every lane lost, its about 10 minutes and they are sieging all 3 lanes at inhib towers when your side hasn't gotten a single objective, you aren't winning.

People that refuse to surrender are just as bad as people that afk when the game is lost. As it is right now, there is no comebacks since if a game is so one sided, you won't survive long enough to make up for the gold difference. How do you expect to win a teamfight when the enemy is up 5-10k gold over you? Good luck killing them when you have one completed item while they have 3-4.

PoTNeedleS2 votes

i agree, as I've had 3 people on the team in many games trying to surrender and 2 of us blocked it. yet we came back and won the game. never give up regardless of whats aggravating you, just change your play style, help the team more and stop chasing them to far away from the team. that is how a lot of teams want you to do because its easy to kill 1 or 2 players alone chasing 1 that's almost dead... Bait, i've used it to ;p Stay with the team, don't surrender.... If you have to leave say sorry to all that you have to.

Wimbledofy2 votes

Thanks for pointing that out. Don't know how he got so many up votes. HE IS ONE OF THE MAIN REASONS PEOPLE CANNOT COMEBACK. For some reason people don't realize that playing a game out, even if it seems like the game isn't in your favor, will help you learn better and will help you win more games in the long run.

Nope. Quitters are people who have no idea point of lol game. Point is to try to win until you do or enemy team does. Point is not to only play when you are ahead and doing well. You are looking for bots son. They make things easier on you delicate competitive pansy.

I dont surrender based on gold alone lol. I also look at the way my team is playing. If we have two hard feeders I'm going to put up the FF because they are just bad and the mistakes make are going to override the enemy mistakes basically every time. Are you telling me you never see your team just feed and know the game is lost? just save some time if you can't 1v5. Not to mention if the game just becomes not fun because of the things I'm having to do and is so much work I can get a 1v3 triple kill and feel no elation because some how my team lost 2 members in a 2vs4 when i killed the carries by myself, yeah i am going to FF. I'm not learning anything except that my team is really garbage and a repeat of the lesson "some games are just unwinnable." Plus I am trying to keep cool and not flame. A lot of variables go into besides not being a pansy.

Better things to do? Like what? Play another game? If you had better things to do you wouldn't be playing in the first place.

Occams Raiser2 votes

Odd that you think playing another game from scratch isn't a viable option from playing a game that is already lost. Watching something on tv isn't better than being held hostage in a lost game because others on your team prefer to waste time getting dominated. Do you lack the capacity to decipher the difference between winnable and unwinnable games based on probability? If you are being outfought, out cs'ed, and out pushed in every lane..... I just don't know what to say to someone like you i guess. Everything is equally viable.

The Oasis2 votes

Yes please. Then force tryhards to join that que so I'm not forced to play out a 4-22 game with a mid-game comp and teammates who can't stop calling each other "stupid %%%gots" against the hyper-scaling team.

Prozzak6 votes

If you were down 4-19 in any game before you were screwed anyway. Being down that much is really no different then past years.

Brawnstud2 votes

But in seasons past, when you were down that far at 20 minutes, the enemy team was taking down your tier 2s, not obliterating your inhibitors

Shyvauni5 votes

Actually it is. You at least had a chance to comeback without relying on the enemy team to make mistakes before. Now you have to pray they screw up big enough for you to recover.

Prozzak1 votes

Just no, at least not in plat or higher (maybe in lower elo's not sure I don't play there). If a team was up that much then they had to massively misplay to lose that game in any season I have been a part of.

Shyvauni3 votes

It has happened in LCS in seasons past, anf smaller daimond tournaments as well. Not often but it has.

Restless Slumber5 votes

I've been having super close games and only a couple stomps in 5.23. I've been finding it a lot less snowbally than 5.22 and allows for comebacks. I would agree with this statement only for 5.22.

Penta Penguin4 votes

How and why do all of these kids get into this game, and keep playing it??

"The game is over before 12 minutes!!!" Omg, it isn't just frustrated exaggeration anymore, but people really believe it. This game is not for you.

Here is what happened; People saw the minion pushing thing, and one huge group-think snowball later, this turned intoa wave of "games will be a stomp, stomp this stomp that, etc." Even before the mechanic was turned on in Live, people were complaining about games being a stomp. Even after Warlord's Bloodlust was hotfixed to stop infinite sustain. This "stomp-fest" wave on the forum enabled all the toxic players like OP, and gave them false vindication for their attitude to give up on games they personally don't see a chance in.

But here's the thing; Riot actually looked at the data and came out and said, average game-time has gone down by only a FEW minutes.

Just remember what the common element of all these "stomps" are; you. If the majority of your games really are "over in 12 minutes" it probably means you're just that bad, or have a bad attitude which secures your loss, ex. fucking AFKing in the middle of a GAME to make a thread on the forums. You should be getting suspended right now and put on reform.

darkmatchwaldo3 votes

Turtle, farm, get defensive vision, split push, wait for your comp to hit a powerspike after theirs ends. Unless your team drafted a god awful comp, that game isn't completely lost. If the comp was just that bad though, that's an entirely different problem.

My Waifu Vanilla3 votes

Doesn't matter how ahead a team is if you can stall to 6 items.

Jasiwel3 votes

I'd rather Riot address glaring issues in their game than lower the surrender time.

I want turrets to not be total garbage in every game mode aside Twisted Treeline.

I want my own minions not to block my champions 5-year old pathing system.

I want all the progress made in the recent two seasons to not be all for not purely because early-midgame damage is now more important than long term strategy.

Jeddy0173 votes

They should at least allow players to surrender early if a player disconnect.I mean,Hi-rez implemented a feature like this into Smite recently.I wonder why Riot haven't added this after 6 years yet.

MasterVidallis3 votes

Regardless of the preseason changes surrender should be have been brought back to 15 min a long time ago. We are talking about the OPTION to surrender, if at least two people think they still have a shot they can say no. But four people AGREE at 15 min that they're too behind to come back, why the fuck do they have to sit around for another 5 min. This happens all the time.

My Waifu Vanilla2 votes

The second the first surrender vote comes up it proves someone on the team wants to give up and lowers the morale of ALL 5 members of the team. It has a psychological impact even if the vote fails.

Aeró2 votes

Bump this shit up some more. If the average game ends before a team can surrender, the surrender time needs to be lowered. But to be fair, it is still pre-season and we should still give riot some time because its not easy to drastically change things without fucking up some aspects of the game. All in due time.

Rubber Jesus2 votes

Penta Penguin2 votes

All of the OP's games in recent match-history were 20 to 40 minutes long, average ~27 minutes. In one game, OP purchases a troll-build of all item 3070.

Nice thread.
