What do you max first with Jhin?

Tried him in mid yesterday (did poorly. Massive lag spike that allowed Lee to get really fed) and I was wondering what I should have maxed. I chose his traps but they're actually pretty poor at causing damage by themselves (I've always found them easy to walk out of unless you get rooted). Should I have maxed the Q? I didn't find myself using it much (I ended up treating his auto's like another ability that I tried farming with. They're pretty fun actually).

So what do you max first and why? And what do you build? I was trying to rush a Phantom dancer, but we FFed before I could finish (it was a really bad game).

I'd max Q always. It's a great poke/farm ability because you need just to wear down minons (or wait for it) and then clear them. If you can wait enough to have only 3 enemy minions alive it's a fairly granted heavy hit on your enemy laner. I ruined an Ahri with it during my second Jhin mid game. Use your W to secure crits on 4th hit.

I max Q first and rush into the Reaver followed by a BF, kirch and then finish the Infinity followed by rapid fire.

Q then E then W for me

R->Q->W->E is my maxing priority. Q helps a lot for wave clear, plus setting up 3 minions so the 4th bounce chunks an enemy laner is rewarding, not to mention having bullets to poke with instead of needing them to cs is helpful for trades.

E is last since avoiding traps is easy under most circumstances, and so W after Q is good for the increased uptime on a potential root, which is particularly useful if the jg gets into a scuffle anywhere nearby or if someone tries to towerdive.

I build IE/ER->Shiv->ER/IE/BT/(probably merc scim but more situational). Shiv+Q makes wave clearing easy mode.

edit: I mostly play jhin bot though, E before W might be of more value in mid lane where you want more anti-gank traps in place.
